Maoyū Maō Yūsha anime green-lit

Maoyū Maō Yūsha anime green-lit

Pony Canyon will produce a television anime adaptation of Touno Mamare’s Maoyū Maō Yūsha (Archenemy and Hero) fantasy novel series.

The story centers on the characters Maō (Demon Queen) and Yūsha (Hero) who live in a world where humans and demons are at war. Yūsha confronts Maō about the destructive war that the demons have imposed on humans. However, Maō tells him that the war has created a reason for humans to work together and improved human society overall. She convinces him that humans would fall into a bloody civil war without their battles against the demons. To prevent such a conflict, Yūsha decides to join forces with Maō.

The series began on the 2channel forum before Enterbrain began publishing the series in 2010. Its five volumes have sold over 450,000 copies, and there are also Episode 1: Nire no Kuni no Jo-Mahō Tsukai (The Sorceress of the Country of Elm) and Episode 0: Sakyū no Kuni no Yumi-zukai (The Archer of the Country of Dunes) spinoff novels. The series has already received several manga adaptations.

Zetman episode 13

Something tells me that this post will be very short. The last twelve weeks of Zetman have been absolutely great, until this episode finally arrived. I am sorry, I really am, but I just can’t acknowledge this as an ending for Zetman. Those who can haven’t been following the story well enough, I think.

We all know that Zetman is very dark and chaotic anime, so what is up with this ending? Hanako, as well all know, turned out to be a player. Still, Jin loved her and wanted to find a way to turn her back to normal. How is it acceptable for Kouga to kill her just like that? He just flew up in the air, switched his weapon to sword-mode and sliced Hanako-chan in two. That is unacceptable, especially after all the things that he has done. It got even worse when Jin, although in great pain, let Kouga off on that one. Maybe he realized that she was a Player, maybe he didn’t. All I’m saying is that I would’ve gotten even after someone just killed my girl in front of me.

Those were the first few bits I didn’t agree with. I also don’t agree with the fact that Jin and Kouga both grew apart. One fights in front of the public as a hero (Kouga, who else?) and one from behind the scenes, trying not to draw any unwanted attention. How could I possibly accept this ending? Jin has finally become complete, still managed to lose his girlfriend, lost most (if not all) of his friends and is still fighting against Players, whom still roam the land as if it were their own. That’s just wrong, for Jin to experience even more pain in the end.

Anyway, I enjoyed watching Zetman. It is definitely worth watching and I plan on seeing it again someday. I was actually hoping for a second season after I saw the ending, but I doubt there’s any chance of that. I have been reading the manga (for as far as I can) and it seems that the ending really does look bad for Jin. It makes you wonder what motivates that character to fight after all day. He lost his friends, family and lover, so what’s the point in fighting when you’ve got nothing left? I don’t think we’ll ever know from the looks of it.

Haiyore! Nyaruko-san episode 12

An extremely weird ending to an extremely weird anime, isn’t that right? Mind you, already knew that something like this would happen. There have been rumours going around about a second season, but I for one highly doubt it. This finished things off pretty nicely.

I’m sure we all remember that that cute little girl, Ghutatan, disappeared during the last episode? Well, apparently she did that to ‘lure’ Mahiro into another world, a world where her servant ruled. To think that yet another mutated Pokémon was the culprit all along, how stupid. At least come up with a bad ass monster, instead of a monster with (surprise) a lot of tentacles. Only in Japan.

That’s all fine too, I suppose. But at least give that guy a proper reason for taking over. Playing each and every adult video game is not a good reason for world domination. Sure, the personality fits the monster, but for crying out loud… Really? A monster with dozens of tentacles that tries to take over the world in order to play adult video games? Maybe it’s just me, but doesn’t that just sound way too lazy?

I did like one thing in particular about this episode though; Mahiro was all alone at one point. He cried out to Nyaruko for help when he was attacked by that monster, which proves once and for all that he does rely on her at certain times. Poor kid, he might as well just give in and let Nyaruko do whatever she wants with his body. I know I would.

The anime has been one strange ride, and yet I have been entertained by each and every episode. I’m glad that I gave Haiyore! Nyaruko-san a shot, as I was actually thinking about dropping it after the second episode. Too bad that there wasn’t a bit more romance. I definitely think Nyaruko and Mahiro would’ve made a cute couple. Oh well…

The Knight in the Area episode 24

Here we go again with the supernatural bullsh*t. I don’t understand why people even bother discussing the subject. Some say that it’s possible that Kakeru acts like Suguru due to heart transplant and some say that it’s completely ridiculous. I’m picking door number two. There is no such thing. It’s all between Kakeru’s ears.

So guess what? Enoshima is behind again in points and it’s up to Kakeru to save the day. So what happens? Kakeru turns into a mindless freak again and starts playing soccer like a pro, leaving everyone way behind him. Yoin was fairly powerless against Kakeru’s ‘Suguru-mode’, which is why Enoshima soon caught up again, as is to be expected of the ever so predictable Knight in the Area.

What did I tell you? Kakeru starts losing, doesn’t like it and turns into a mindless moron that plays like his older brother, Suguru, after which he soon drags his team back into the game by tying the score once more. The crowd cheers, Kakeru’s friends are worried because they see his older broter in him and others just go with the flow. It’s the same old thing that we’ve been seeing for the last twenty four weeks.

Frankly, I’m seriously thinking about dropping this anime and move on to something more suitable. It is so predictable. I could write next week’s episode right now, no problem; Kakeru’s mindlessness continues for a little while longer, snaps out of it soon after and finds himself with a lot of questions, as he cannot remember what happened during the time that he, and I quote; “blacked out”. That’s why I usually don’t like soccer; it gets too predictable at one point.

I also sense a love triangle coming up. Nana already likes Kakeru, although she doesn’t fully realize it. And Mai is falling for him as we speak. It is a matter of time before they clash again, just like they did a few episodes back.
