Akame ga Kill! episode 12
Is it just me or was the WTF-factor a little bit higher during this episode? People didn’t get cut down or torn to piece this time, but it was still a bit weirder than usual. Will I ever get used to it? Well, probably not. Nor do I need to.
So the team acquired two new recruits, one of which actually turned out to be Najenda’s newest weapon; a human Imperial Arms by the name of Susanoo. I don’t really like that. I want to see Najenda fight someone. Now she just got herself a mobile weapon that does as she orders, so it’s probably going to be a long time before we get to see her fight. She will be using Susanoo to do her dirty work. In fact, there’s a good chance that we only get to see her fight against Esdeath near the end of the show, provided Tatsumi doesn’t win her over after all.
This new Chelsea character is something else. She has quite a big mouth and doesn’t mind saying what’s on her mind. Still, her abilities are very useful and could prove to be fatal and funny at the same time. That scene where she transformed into a little animal in order to steal Mine’s cake was priceless. I watched that scene about four or five times before I had enough.
I was also a little bit surprised to see Tatsumi used that spear-like weapon. I know it’s part of Incursio, but I honestly thought that the weapon would take the shape of a sword or something. After all, Tatsumi’s a swordsmen. I still think that that weapon doesn’t really suit him like it did Bulat. Not that it matters. Tatsumi will soon after to worry about fighting off women like Esdeath and Leone, whom also has a little eye on him I think.
