Amagami SS+ Plus episode 05

Look at the time… I wanted to have this post finished a long time ago, but I couldn’t watch the episode because the weather outside interfered. There’s roughly a few inches of snow outside, but it’s all good! I’m inside, I’m warm and I just watched the fifth episode of Amagami SS Plus.

This time its Ai-chan’s turn to stand in the spotlight. However, the story is a little bit different as both of them are already a couple. I didn’t expect that, but that’s all the more reason to keep watching. The two already have a history together that makes things a little easier for them. Still, just because they’re together doesn’t mean that there can’t be an exciting love story.

First let me tell you something about Ai. She’s the slender swimming type that cares a lot about family, friends and the future. She’s a very average girl that you often encounter; she’s very calm, friendly and surprisingly humble. Needless to say that she’s great girlfriend material, this is why Junichi is once again the luckiest guy alive. She’s still young, but despite her age she has a clear vision of where she wants to be in the future.

So we’re basically dealing with a couple this time. That’s fine, as the story’s foundation has already been presented to us. You see, the two of them wanted nothing more than to spend Christmas Eve with one another. This became a lot more difficult when Junichi’s test results came in, forcing him to attend the cram school’s special camp program. Normally you’d think; “so what? What does that have to do with them spending Christmas Eve together?” – Well… that camp ‘happens’ to start on December 23rd, which means that Junichi won’t be there to celebrate Christmas Eve.

I had no idea that Cram Schools were allowed to do that. Hell, I didn’t even know that there were schools in existence that opened their doors on Christmas Eve, let alone take students on a special educational trip. Living in Japan must be tough, I guess…

Anyway, I enjoyed the episode. It was different, unexpected and very refreshing. I have several theories mapped out about what might happen during next week’s episode, but my imagination is really messed up, which is why I will spare you the headache. What has been seen cannot be unseen.

  1. i love amagami ss but its a little bit less exciting when they are already a coupe
