Danball Senki Wars

I would like to apologize beforehand if my review isn’t very accurate this time. I watched the first episode and a few episodes of Danball Senki and Danball Senki W. neither of one those really interested me. Danball Senki was very average and still the best out of these three.

Danball Senki WarsThe artwork hasn’t changed much. A lot of overrated action and boring-looking mechs. Those mechs, which are an essential part of this show, could use a lot more work. They look dull and make the action seem kind of dull too.

I must admit that the story seemed interesting though. The second season (if I’m allowed to call it that?) was kind of disappointing, but this seems like it has a bit of promise. I don’t think it’ll surpass Danball Senki though.

Whether I recommend this or not depends on several things. Have you seen the first two seasons? Well, try out Danball Senki if you haven’t. You might not like it, plus you wouldn’t be fully caught up if you suddenly started to watch Danball Senki Wars. The rest kind of depends on whether or not you like mechs.

Plot Summary: Year 2055, 4 years after the events in Danball Senki W. LBXs have become the world’s largest hobby, big enough for pro leagues to be established, and people to make their entire living off being an LBX player. 14-year-old Arata is a new transfer student at Kamui Daimon Integrated Academy on Kamui Island, near Japan. Known to be the most prestigious institution in the world for raising LBX players and mechanics, entrance to the academy requires an extremely competitive hurdle of being the champion of at least 3 official tournaments. Along with other members of his platoon, they face rivals and delve into the secrets lurking within the academy.

Glass no Kamen Desu ga

Hi Japan, some of you may ask yourselves “how do we know we’re working on something good?” Well, it’s simple, really… Just make something like this show, but do it so that it’s the exact opposite. It’s too bad I’m not rich, otherwise I would’ve sued these guys for creating something like this.

Glass no Kamen Desu ga

I don’t want to make this post too big, so I’m not going to focus on the artwork and story too much. Let us just say that it’s horrible. I’d rather watch my old dog as he walks around the house with his ball sack following him around, sweeping the ground like some sort of meaty broom. That would’ve been more entertaining than this.

I wish I could turn back time and undo my own birth. I finally understand what they mean by “what has been seen cannot be unseen”. Please guys, do yourselves a favour and skip this one.

Plot Summary: The anime will re-imagine the story with the characters Maya Kitajima and her rival Ayumi Himekawa being delinquent girls who both aspire to be the leader of the “Crimson Goddess” gang.

Dibetagurashi: Ahiru no Seikatsu

Somebody better pick up a gun. Use it to shoot those birds or me, just pick quickly. Who doesn’t like to watch a show about a bunch of drugged up birds? It’s amazing what they are willing to animate…

Dibetagurashi Ahiru no SeikatsuThe artwork… Kill me. It’s not that hard to draw a bunch of birds, even I can do it (pretty darn well). It looks annoying and it’s not something one can watch too often, unless you’re a sad kid with no friends.

The story… Again, kill me. One would think that they’d tried to teach you something when they create a show about a bunch of strange-looking birds, but no… What’s there to learn from this?

Skip it. Pretend it doesn’t even exist. If I somehow find out that you are making children watch this then I will call the authorities to sort you out. You have been warned!

Plot Summary: The story follows the daily life of a group of birds, including a duck, an old nihilistic great grey owl, and a gluttonous Caique parrot.

Hentai Ouji to Warawanai Neko

Oh yeah, I’m definitely going to write about this one. It’s absolutely hilarious! I already knew that this was right up my alley as soon as I read part of the title; “Hentai Ouji” or Pervert Prince in English. I knew that this was something that I would enjoy watching.

Hentai Ouji to Warawanai NekoThe artwork is pretty good. The characters look good, the backgrounds look very detailed and that thing with that cat statue was pretty cool. I wish they had worked a bit more on Youto though, because I really think that he looks a bit too plain.

Still, it’s the story that fascinated me the most. It’s quite interesting and it not like most ecchi anime. Most people are quick to judge when it comes to ecchi-genre anime, because they probably think its garbage. But this is not about panty shots or cleavage. They focus more on the story than on panty shots or cleavage. That is why I have high hopes for this one.

I most certainly recommend it. It’s funny, it’s interesting and it could be quite romantic if they do it right. I’m really excited about this one, so how about you give the first episode a try, too?

Plot Summary: Youto Yokodera is always thinking about his carnal desires, but no one acknowledges him as a pervert. He learns about a cat statue that supposedly grants wishes. The boy goes to pray that he will be able to express his lustful thoughts whenever and wherever he wants. At the statue, Youto encounters Tsukiko Tsutsukakushi, a girl from his high school with her own wish—that she would not display her real intentions so readily.

Kakumeiki Valvrave

Is this a new series or did I watch a Gundam Seed remake? The start was almost a complete rip-off from Gundam Seed. Is it really that hard to come up with something original? One has a lot more possibilities with these types of stories, so why?

Kakumeiki ValvraveIt’s a good thing that the mech, Valvrave (if that’s actually the mech’s name), looked pretty awesome. The artwork will definitely lead the way. You can clearly tell that they put a lot of time in creating that mech, but I’m not so sure about the rest.

The story is pretty interesting, although that’s probably because it looks a lot like Gundam Seed. I liked the part where Haruto had to give up his humanity to become something else, something that’s capable of protecting his friends and family.

It’s difficult to recommend this one. On one hand I enjoyed watching it, but on the other I cannot help but feel that they got the idea from Gundam Seed. It just looks too much alike. No doubt that mech fans will eat this up, so I definitely recommend this to all mech fans. It’s quite strange that this show already has a second season coming.

Plot Summary: True Calendar (T.C.) 71 – A new age where 70% of the human population lives in space thanks to the development of “Dyson Sphere”, a city in space.

The world is divided into two main powers: The Dorssia Military Pact Federation, a power which grew out of a military alliance, and the Atlantic Rim United States (ARUS), which grew in power as it expanded its trade agreements. The minor nation of JIOR has declared neutrality between these two forces and maintains its peace through economic prosperity.

Within the JIOR’s Sphere, Haruto Tokishima lived an ordinary life as a high school student in the division known as “Module 77″—until the Dorssian military begins their sudden invasion!

But the whole world will be shaken when Haruto meets the mysterious humanoid weapon, Valvrave!

Toaru Kagaku no Railgun S

Oh happy day, it’s finally here! It took about three to four years for it to get here, but it’s always better than never. I’m happy that this season has twenty-four episodes as well, just like the first season. It deserves each and every one of them.

Toaru Kagaku no Railgun SI’m happy to say that the artwork still looks good, although I still believe that Kuroko’s voice still doesn’t match the character. Kuroko sometimes sounds like an old crow, which is something that doesn’t really fit that character. That is the only thing I would have changed about this entire show, the rest is good as is.

I honestly can’t say anything about the story. It’s not a spinoff, so you already know it’s going to be good with this being a continuation of a really good story. It’s very hard to go wrong with this one, that’s for sure.

I’m happy to say that I definitely recommend this one. It makes that Zettai Karen Children spinoff seem boring at times, it’s that good. For all the lucky people that haven’t even seen the first season; go watch that first! Another twenty-four episodes of golden entertainment… Lucky devils!

Plot Summary: The second season will focus on The Sisters Arc. Lasting only a single volume in the Toaru Majutsu no Index light novels, it was later expanded greatly in the Toaru Kagaku no Railgun manga.

The arc focuses on the ordeals of Mikoto Misaka after discovering the existence of the Radio Noise sisters that are being used in the Level 6 Shift, an experiment where they are killed in order for the highest-ranking Level 5, Accelerator, can achieve Level 6.

Yuyushiki

Wow, this is the type of show that immediately reminds you where anime comes from. I must say that I expected a little bit more than this. This turned out to be very boring and quite uninteresting. What a terrible shame…

YuyushikiThe artwork could really have been better. All of the characters have those stereotypical huge eyes, which is something that doesn’t always work out. In this case it just doesn’t work out. It look ridiculous because they keep focussing on it.

The story isn’t that much of an improvement, because it’s really boring… It’s just another story about high school girls and their daily lives. There’s nothing special about it, and that is why I got bored halfway through.

I’m afraid I can’t recommend this one. Go ahead and watch it if you don’t mind a cheap laugh every now and then, but this isn’t for you if you enjoy good stories.

Plot Summary: The story follows the school life of three girls, Yuzuko, Yukari, and Yui in the Data Processing Club.

Sparrow’s Hotel

Why did was this made? Is there anyone at all that benefits from this? I bet the author doesn’t even benefit from having this on his/her résumé.

Sparrow's HotelThe artwork sucks. It’s watchable for an anime short, but it still sucks. I hate how Sayuri looks like your average busty girl that does everything almost perfectly.

The story… There is none. What’d you expect? It’s three minutes per episode, so how could there possibly be a story? One regular episode would be five or six episodes of this worthless anime short.

Skip this one if you don’t wish to waste your time. It’s just not worth it, I’m sorry.

Plot Summary: The comedy revolves around Sayuri Satou, the new front desk worker at the Sparrow’s Hotel—”the closest hotel to Heaven”. Her special features are her large breasts and her skills of assassination. She takes down people who cause trouble in the business hotel with those skills, but she is in fact very unskilled when talking to the male hotel manager, and often bites her tongue.
