Hitsugi no Chaika: Avenging Battle

I had a feeling that we would soon get to see a second season. The first season and so abruptly that a second season was only a matter of time. I doubt that they would’ve ended things that way.

Hitsugi no Chaika Avenging BattleAnyway, the artwork is still as good as ever. Quite detailed, a lot of great characters, items and weapons and I doubt that there are a lot of people that would complain about any of it.

I have to say that I am kind of hoping that this season ends all of it. Let Chaika (the one that’s traveling with those saboteurs) obtain all of her father’s remains. The first season was good, the second season will probably be just as good if not better, but to drag this story out even further by adding another season… No thank you.

I will recommend this to all the people that have seen the first season.  I probably don’t have to since they would anyway, but still… Go nuts!

Plot Summary: Toru Acura is a 20-year-old retired soldier meandering through life now that the war has ended. He encounters Chaika Trabant, a 14-year-old sorceress carrying a coffin, and follows her in hopes of finding meaning to his life again. The two travel with Toru’s adopted sister, Akari, the employed member of the group and thus Toru’s source of income.

Shirobako

I am not going to compare this to Bakuman, a masterpiece that ended up teaching me a lot about the manga world. I’ll just say that this, like Bakuman, might just teach us quite a bit about the anime industry. I mean, aren’t you a little curious about how it all works? I know I am.

ShirobakoThe artwork is pretty decent. I really haven’t seen anything special so far, but it doesn’t look bad. It’s weird that Warner Brothers, an American studio, helped make this. They don’t work on anime that often…

Anyway, the story is key here. It shows us what it takes to create and air anime, which is something I find quite interesting. Of course, I am going to have to blindly trust that this information is somewhat accurate. This could all be wrong for all we know.

Do you want to know more about anime and how it’s made? Watch this. I know I am going to.

Plot Summary: A “shirobako” refers to the white box into which a finalized tape of a film is put, full of the effort of everyone who worked on it. Five girls have their eyes set on getting in a white box as they try to find success in the anime industry through writing, production, and voice acting.

Parasyte

I see this as this season’s Tokyo Ghoul. Is that wrong of me? I don’t think so. Sure, this didn’t get my heart going like Tokyo Ghoul did, but god did I love the first episode. I’d have to be a complete fool if I didn’t write about this.

Parasyte -the maxim-The artwork is great, which is not all that surprising since Madhouse is working on it. The characters look cool, the sceneries look nice and I am loving those parasitic creatures. It makes you wonder about what kind of person would come up with that sort of thing.

Story-wise this is gold. Pure gold. I can safely say that there is nothing like it out there, which is quite rare nowadays. Almost everything has been done at least once in one way or another. This is just interestingly unique.

If there is any part of you that likes action, horror or sci-fi creatures, not necessarily in one show, than this is definitely for you. It is very interesting and the story is ever so promising. I have only seen the first episode and I already want more.

Plot Summary: Shinichi Izumi is a normal high school boy whose right hand has become infected with an alien parasite that names itself “Migi” (“right”). Migi is the first parasite to develop a symbiotic relationship with its host, as he and Shinichi slowly develop a grudging friendship. Migi isn’t the only Parasite on earth, however, and as cases of Parasites killing humans begin to emerge, humans seek to kill off Parasites. Shinichi and Migi find themselves caught in between these two sides of the struggle over planet earth.

Daitoshokan no Hitsujikai

Boy o boy… The author certainly has to put up with a lot of criticism. This episode aired about a week ago and the internet is filled with dissatisfied anime geeks. Why? This is by no means a bad watch if you compare it to some of the others shows this season.

Daitoshokan no HitsujikaiI make it my mission to ensure that I am honest about all of my reviews. That being said; the artwork is nothing special. It could definitely use a touch up because it is lacking in quite a few departments.

The story isn’t that bad though. I find it rather amusing. There’s a healthy amount of perverseness, comedy and even a little bit of mystery. Who knows what that Kyoutarou character is capable of at this point?

Sick and tired of those childish shows? Are you up for a laugh? Give this a chance. I will continue watching this for now, but I, of course, cannot guarantee that it remains interesting after a couple of episodes.

Plot Summary: The story is set at Shiomi Academy, a vast, prestigious academy with a Daitoshokan (literally, “great library”) that rivals Japan’s national library. As a member of the Library Club, Kyoutarou Kakei goes to Daitoshokan to enjoy reading by himself. He then meets a second-year girl named Tsugumi Shirasaki through the efforts of a so-called “shepherd” who fulfills people’s wishes. Eventually, more girls join the club thanks to the “shepherd.”

Gundam Build Fighters Try

I must say that I liked the first season. I watched it from start to finish and although there were a lot of things that I didn’t like, I still enjoyed watching those battles very much. Besides, I like the idea of combining all sorts of mobile suits from pretty much all of the Gundam series into one show.

Gundam Build Fighters TryThe artwork is great. How could it not be? It’s about Gundams! This is being made by several well-known studios and it shows. It is quite detailed and there is no way that there are any mecha fans on the planet that dislike the look of Gundams. Even those chibi Gundams look pretty cool.

Like I said above; I like the idea of combining all sorts of suits from all the Gundam series and putting them all in one show to fight one another. It’s a good thing that they aren’t using the (improved) Wing Zero from Gundam Wing, otherwise the show would’ve been over quickly. That Gundam simply dominates.

I don’t think you have to watch the first season to be able to watch this one. It isn’t a continuation and it is pretty self-explanatory. Nevertheless, I do recommend that you do watch the first season if you haven’t already. Go give this a try if you like mecha anime.

Plot Summary: It has been seven years since Sei Iori won the 7th Gunpla Battle Championship World Tournament. Gunpla Battle is now more popular than ever, with new rules and new ways to battle. Fumina Hoshino is the president of the Gunpla Battle Club at Sei’s old school, Seiho Academy, and a big fan of the game, but unfortunately, she cannot attend the upcoming All-Japan Gunpla Battle Championship tournament without a three-person team. Desperate to participate, she meets transfer student and young martial artist Sekai Kamiki, as well as a young Gunpla builder named Yūma Kōsaka. The three decided to join up to form Team “TRY FIGHTERS”, a new team of Gunpla builders and fighters that will together face the challenge of winning the tournament.

Hi sCoool! SeHa Girl

I will sum this nonsense up with one simple word: worthless. There are plenty of other negative words that I could’ve used, but I will be going with that one for now.

Hi sCoool! SeHa GirlThe artwork is just dreadful. They need to stop with this 2.5D nonsense because it is visual hell. Either stick to 2D or go completely 3D. Anything in between rarely works.

The story… Is there one? I don’t know. I was so annoyed because of the artwork that I forgot to pay attention to the story. That says a lot.

Seriously, this is one of those times where you just need to listen to me when I tell you that you will be wasting your limited time in this world on this crap. It isn’t worth it.

Plot Summary: The story of the anime will revolve around Dreamcast, Sega Saturn, and Mega Drive, who have just enrolled in SeHaGaga Academy at Tokyo’s Haneda Ōtorii station. They are given an assignment needed to graduate by a suspicious teacher, and to clear this assignment, the girls need to enter the world of Sega games. The girls must try their best to graduate without incident.

Trinity Seven

Another anime by one of the better studios. I do have some hope for this, but I feel as though the story will be the weak link here. I am trying to figure out how they are going to approach this.

Trinity SevenThe artwork isn’t at all bad. In fact, it’s quite nice. The characters look good, it is pretty detailed and I really loved some of the expressions on Lilith’s face.

As I said earlier; the story is what worries me. I got me interested for now, but even I must admit that it isn’t anything special. Stories like these either turn out very predictable or completely pointless. So yeah, I am hoping that this is one those rare golden nuggets.

I laughed and I cheered a little. It may look promising now, but it will depend on how the story unfolds from here on out. It promises to be very funny, quite romantic and filled to the brim with magical action. I therefor advise you to check out the first episode.

Plot Summary: Everyday is a normal day in the small town where Kasuga Arata lives; however, everything changed on the day of the Black Sun, and following it, a magician appears before him. The Black Sun caused the Breakdown Phenomenon which destroyed the town where he lives. Because of this, his normal life was artificially reconstructed by a Grimoire that his childhood friend had left. Just what is the purpose of the magician coming to the town? What will he do with the Grimoire’s keepsake?

Akatsuki no Yona

I am willing to bet that this, too, was made primarily for girls. It just shows. I make sure that all my reviews all fair, so I have to admit right away that this isn’t all that bad. I liked what I saw during the first episode and I will continue watching this if it stays like this.

Akatsuki no YonaThe artwork is alright. Some of the characters could really use some work and the details could use a little polishing. Still, those are minor things that don’t really interfere with your viewing experience.

The story is what worries me. It had a pretty good and interesting start. I am worried that soon a lot of “pretty boys” will show up all over the place to help a little princess in her time of need. I honestly wouldn’t want that.

I am going to carefully recommend this to action and fantasy fans. The comedy was a bit weak so I doubt comedy fans would love this sort of thing. It all depends on what happens next…

Plot Summary: King Il of Kouka, a land said in legends to have been founded by four dragons, has only one remaining heir, a daughter named Yona. She lives a happy life in the palace with her cousin Soo-won, who she loves in spite of her father’s opposition to them marrying. Her life is turned upside down when Soo-won murders her father and steals the throne. Yona, with her childhood friend and bodyguard Hak, must retreat to gather allies and reclaim her place as ruler of the kingdom.
