Haha, I knew it! I knew this would turn out shitty! This is your beloved horror show of 2014? Ha! You can’t expect something to be scary when you only have five minutes per episode. You can’t build up to a decent scare. With this you couldn’t build up to a decent scare if you had 5 hours.

PupaHorrible. Not only was it censored (a censored horror show, really?) but it was so horrible that I might call my doctor tomorrow to have myself tested for eye cancer. It may have been a little creepy but that’s just about it. I did like the parts where the screen went completely black though. That may have been the best part of the artwork.

I’m not even going to comment on the story. They completely screwed over the manga with this horrible anime adaption. It’s truly a disgrace that betrayed many, many expectations. Thank god I knew this would happen when I heard that Deen was behind it all.

Don’t waste your time by watching this. It’s not worth it. It’s horrible. I’d rather watch some loli wave her girly wand to make a few girly monsters disappear.

Plot Summary: Growing up with an abusive father, Utsutsu is highly protective of his younger sister Yume. One day, Yume sees a red butterfly and contracts the strange Pupa virus. She begins to sprout grotesque wings and to indiscriminately attack both animals and humans. Hoping to find a way to stop the advance of the virus, Utsutsu seeks out Maria, a researcher who knows the secret of Pupa. He decides to sacrifice his own body as live bait for the sake of saving Yume.

Magical Warfare

Quite a messy start, but what can you expect from magic-genre anime? I’m just glad that there aren’t any loli’s with girly wands and messed up catchphrases. The world has seen more than enough of those shows, enough is enough.

Magical WarfareI’m satisfied. It’s clearly not a budget product. Great character design, great effects and I have no complaints about the details. It all looks pretty good. A character whose breasts suddenly increase in size is enough for me to give the artwork two dumbs up.

I’m quite interested in the story, too. The whole concept of magic in this story is refreshing and I’m actually pretty interested in learning more about the way things work in their world. Only teenagers can become magicians, huh? Sure, why not?

I suggest that magic fans give this show a try. I thought that it was quite amusing and I think that the story shows quite a lot of promise. Stop looking at little, flat-chested girls with strange voices and stupid wands… Now it’s your chance to start watching real magic-genre anime!

Plot Summary: When Nanase Takeshi, a regular high school student, encounters Aiba Miu, a girl from a world of destruction, he winds up getting involved in a grand battle between mages. In order to save Miu, in order to save the world, and in order to change destiny. A real, modern-day magical action story begins now.

Onee-chan ga Kita

This certainly turned out to be a decent anime short. Every year there’s a bunch of shows about a cute (little) sister that likes her brother in a romantic way. Every single year… It’s like the Japanese are trying to promote incest.

Onee-chan ga KitaThe artwork is pretty funny. It’s not great and it’s not bad either. They really tried to make that little sister as “cute” as possible. In fact, it’s painfully obvious that character design was probably their highest priority.

Not much I can say about the story… It’s about a girl and the feelings she has for her brother. Surely I don’t need to say anything else?

Watch it, don’t watch, it doesn’t matter. It’s a three minutes every week. You may have lost three minutes of your life if you ended up disliking it, suck it up and move on to something else. I personally will pass on this one.

Plot Summary: 13-year old Tomoya’s father remarries, and his new stepsister is 17-year old Ichika. She decides she’s completely in love with him, to a ridiculous and somewhat scary degree.

Hoozuki no Reitetsu

Do you want to know what I want to do right now? Guess… Are you ready? You are completely right if you guessed that I want to wait until he’s completely dark outside, leave the house with a suicide note in my pocket and ask random strangers to shoot or stab me in the eye if they are carrying something.

Hoozuki no ReitetsuThis was awful. The details made me want to cry, most of the characters made me want to cry and the style in general is so bad that I might get the runs any day now. The only thing that looked good was Hoozuki, one of the main characters. That’s the one thing that I didn’t mind.

Calling this story boring would actually be a compliment. I had no idea what was going on because I was too focussed on the bad artwork, but what I did understand left me confused and disappointed. I can’t see how this particular anime adaption got green-lit.

I do not recommend this. It’s boring, it looks dreadful and I think it might have a negative impact on your desire to watch anime. I encourage people to watch anime. I don’t want them to start disliking it because of something like this.

Plot Summary: Hoozuki is the aide to the great king of Hell, King Enma. Calm and super-sadistic, Hoozuki tries to resolve the various problems in Hell, including a rampaging Momotarou and his companions. However, he also likes spending his free time on his hobbies, such as fawning over cute animals and raising “Goldfish Flowers.”

Z/X: Ignition

Yeah… I figured as much. My expectations for this one were really low. The story didn’t sound all too promising and the characters, at least the ‘normal ones’, didn’t look all that impressive. All in all pretty mediocre.

ZX IgnitionI think the artwork is the best thing about this show, and that says something. Only the “monsters” look great. I think the author put a lot of hours into making those. The rest just sort of lacks in comparison. It certainly could have used a little more detail…

Anyway, the story is just too strange. I had no idea what was going on half of the time and it was very hard to tell if we were watching the “good guys” or the “bad guys”. A story isn’t all that interesting or enjoyable when it’s this confusing. It’s not even that good a story to begin with.

I simply cannot recommend this. Like I said; I had no idea what was going on half of the time and I simply have no idea what I can expect to see in the near future. It just doesn’t look all that promising right now.

Plot Summary: The story is set in the not-so-distant future. Five “Black Points” suddenly appeared around the world as portals to parallel worlds. Immediately after, strange creatures began their invasion from these portals. These creatures are the inhabitants of five worlds—the same worlds in different timeframes. In order to ensure their own future timeframe survives, each of the five invasion forces battle to wipe the other future timeframes out. The key is one card-shaped device.

Dreadful. Who would ever want to come home from work to watch this crap? It’s almost as though they are mocking us, the public, by pushing this crap into existence. The world doesn’t need or want this, trust me.

Strange+The artwork is annoying. The characters are pretty bad and they expressions piss me off so much that I actually want to buy a dart board, print out these characters and put them on that board to release a bit of pent up stress. So bad…

There are only a few months per episode… How good a story could it be? I certainly couldn’t follow it because of the poor artwork. Hell, I didn’t even understand what was going on to be very honest with you.

Watching this was a complete waste of time. I only did it so that I could write this review. This could be used as a punishment for those that get community service. Did you rob someone? Watch ten teen episodes of Strange+ without breaks. You will never rob anyone ever again.

Plot Summary: Kou is searching for his older brother Takumi, who left home and has gone missing in the city. Worried that he’s in trouble, Kou decides not to go home until he’s found him, only to find him all too easily. Takumi, it turns out, has become head of the Mikuni Detective Agency, and has no intention of going back home. Kou decides that if he can’t make Takumi return, then he’ll join the agency himself.

Gin no Saji 2

I don’t get this… Why does Gin no Saji only get twelve episodes? It’s not the type of show that gets boring quickly and it’s quite popular. A second season was green-lit almost right after the first one ended and I wouldn’t be surprised if they are already thinking about a third one.

Gin no Saji 2The artwork is still as great as ever. They are doing their best to bring us accurate stuff and it clearly shows. My family is “fond” of farm life, so I have a rough idea of what is accurate and what is not. Silver Spoon basically has it all.

I can’t say much about the story to be very honest. The only thing I will say is that I’m hoping for Yugo’s success. He really impressed me during the first season. That is why I’m kind of hoping for his success. Allow the guy some happiness and make Aki his girlfriend already!

This part will be short: Yes. Watch the first season if you haven’t already and be sure to watch this one as well. It’s worth the watch, trust me.

Plot Summary: Yuugo Hachiken decided to escape from the stressful school and home environment in the city by enrolling at Ouezo Agricultural High School. Unlike his peers who’ll eventually embark upon an agricultural career, he decides to study there only because he believes it’ll be less competitive academically. Unfamiliar with his new surroundings, he tries his best to adapt to the agricultural world he had never thought of living in.

Mikakunin de Shinkoukei

The hell was this? It thought it was going to be a feminine school-girl anime about their daily life and how they cope with their insignificant teenage problems. This turned out so much better than I could’ve ever imagined. I dare call it a must-write. We’ll see… If my schedule allows for it…

Mikakunin de ShinkoukeiThe artwork is great. I love all the characters. Mashiro is absolutely adorable and I think Hakuya is pretty cool. His ignorance is perfect. I simply can’t get over the details. It was a delight watch and I’m really looking forward to see more.

The story is definitely the cream whip to this tasty treat. A boy suddenly shows up on a sixteen year-old girl’s doorstep and turns out to be her fiancé? He even brings his cute little sister? How freakishly hilarious is that!? I would’ve probably passed out if I were in Kobeni’s shoes. Poor girl…

There’s no doubt in my mind that this show will be a success with a combination this good. The artwork is great and the story is incredibly amusing. I recommend this show to all. I have enjoyed myself during the first episode and I’m positive that the rest will be just as good.

Plot Summary: Yonomi Kobeni, an ordinary girl, finds out on her 16th birthday that she is betrothed to Mitsumine Hakuya, a boy the same age as her. Hakuya moves in from the countryside and starts living with her, bringing his younger sister who is still a primary school student with him.
