Gakkou Gurashi!

A lot of people are going nuts over this one. I do not see it. It seemed to me like another boring slice of life anime. It could be that it just had a rough start, but to me it seems like nothing special.

Gakkou Gurashi! The artwork is okay. The characters look alright, although I think the cat-girl look has been done to death. They gave Yuki a cat-girl hat and a cat-girl frown from time to time in order to draw out a few laughs. Meh…

The story eludes me. I cannot even remember where I got lost. I have been told that it’s more than just a slice of life anime where school girls go about their business. It’s supposedly about to become quite interesting…

I haven’t seen anything exciting yet. It looked like just another boring slice of life anime to me. Maybe the second episode will change my opinion…

Plot Summary: Four girls decide to stay over at school: the energetic Yuki Takeya, the shovel-loving Kurumi, the center of the group Yūri who brings everyone together, and the spacey school adviser Megu. However, through mysterious circumstances, the girls find themselves the final survivors in a zombie attack, and continue to live at the school.

Himouto! Umaru-chan

I almost did not watch this. I absolutely dislike chibi characters. Somehow I’m not really bothered by it this time. In the end I found myself laughing quite a lot, which is always a good thing.

Himouto! Umaru-chanThe artwork is alright. The characters look nice, the level of detail is pretty nice and I like the music. Yeah, Umaru (love that name) becomes a chibi as soon as she gets home in order to start her Otaku-mode, but I can somehow deal with that due to it being quite funny.

I think it’s a promising story. Her brother wants to scold her for wasting her time on video games, anime and manga, but he can’t since she’s the top student of her school. He knows he can’t scold her for doing whatever she wants in her free time when she’s preforming so good in school.

I think this is definitely worth watching. I enjoyed myself quite a bit when I watched the first episode and I’m already looking forward to the next one. I think it’s safe to recommend this one.

Plot Summary: Umaru is Taihei’s little sister who boasts beautiful looks as well as prowess in both school and sports. However, she has a certain secret. She’s a “Himōto” a little sister who is proper in public but lazy at home.

Joukamachi no Dandelion

I remember several people sending me private messages to keep an eye out for Joukamachi no Dandelion. It was supposedly to be quite funny and quite good. In the end I feel a little disappointed to be very honest.

Joukamachi no DandelionThe artwork isn’t really the problem. A lot of good studios have been working on this and it looks alright. The characters, although a little plain, look nice and the level of detail isn’t that bad.

The problem, I think, would be the story. We have a big family of teenagers all capable of using their own supernatural power and their father is the kind of their country. Farfetched doesn’t begin to describe how strange this story is.

Comedy fans might like this, I think. The story is so strange that I’m not sure when to laugh? When is it supposed to be funny? Is it funny that Akane, a shy character, doesn’t like to go out in public? Is it funny that her siblings are all fighting for the throne? I fail to see it.

Plot Summary: The everyday lives of the nine super-powered siblings of the royal family are monitored by more than 200 surveillance cameras and broadcast nationwide. The people of the nation who are watching the broadcast will have the ability to elect the next monarch. Akane is the third-oldest sister who can manipulate gravity. She is shy and desperately does not want to be caught on camera.

Suzakinishi the Animation

Meh. I honestly don’t want to waste too much time and effort on this post since this anime short simply isn’t worth it.

Suzakinishi the AnimationThe artwork is so-so. When you compare it to some of the other anime shorts out there it might seem acceptable, but only barely.

The rest sucks. I mean, the artwork is not good at all, but the story, in my opinion, if you can call it that, if so much worse.

I will not waste another three minutes on this show. It’s bad enough that I have wasted those minutes on the first episode.

Plot Summary: One day, two transfer students arrive a certain high school in Tokyo: airhead Aya Suzaki and happy-go-lucky Asuka Nishi. For the duo, every day is a happy day in campus.

Kuusen Madoushi Kouhosei no Kyoukan

This does not look promising at all. The first episode was very disappointing and pretty hard to watch at times. The characters have strange personalities and the story makes no sense whatsoever right now. What a weird start…

Kuusen Madoushi Kouhosei no KyoukanThe artwork is alright. I’m not going to say that it’s great or extremely detailed. It’s not. It barely passes in my book. The characters look rather dull and the weapons, from what I’ve seen so far, don’t really look all that amazing.

And this story… Boy… What a mess. We have a so-called traitor that’s supposed to be the instructor for three annoying students. Why let a traitor teach? Why even start him off as a traitor and not tell us more about it? Why even bother starting the episode off in a way that just confuses the hell out of people?

I honestly see nothing special about this show. It doesn’t look all that interesting and I don’t think that I will be following this for that much longer. I’ll probably drop it after the second episode. I suggest you look at something else.

Plot Summary: Humanity was driven off the land by the threat of magical armored insects and now live in aerial floating cities. Its defenses lie in wizards who fight the insects with magic in mid-air. Kanata Age is a young man who lives on the floating wizard academy city of “Misutogan.” He was once celebrated as the “Black Master Swordsman,” the elite ace of the S128 special team. However, he is now despised as the “traitor of the special team.” One day, he is assigned as the instructor of E601, a team that has suffered 10 consecutive defeats. E601 has three girls — Misora Whitale, Lecty Eisenach, and Rico Flamel — with one or two peculiar quirks.

Junjou Romantica 3

I cannot do this. I just can’t. This is so gay that I just want to scratch my eyes out. I have no problem with homosexuality in general, but I don’t want to watch twenty minutes of boy-love every week. There’s a limit to everything.

Junjou Romantica 3I never complained once about the artwork. I barely made it through one episode and thought that the artwork was rather nice. Quite detailed and interesting.

But yeah, the story is a huge problem for me. I just can’t deal with this boy-love nonsense. It’s just not or me. It’d be the same as looking at hard-core gay pornography if you ask me.

I will not bother about not recommending this. It got three seasons and all of those season got pretty high ratings. If you don’t mind boy-love stories then I suggest you give it a try.

Plot Summary: College student Misaki Takahashi’s feelings towards famous novelist Akihiko Usami gradually changes with time being living with him, especially when Misaki is becoming a college senior.

Million Doll

What the hell did I watch? I could not believe what I was seeing. I’ll be honest; I did not expect much. Medaka Box was this studio’s best work so far, the rest was either bad or mediocre.

Million DollI honestly don’t even want to talk about the artwork. It looks so incredibly bad. The characters look kinda weird and their movements are dreadful. I cannot bear to watch it.

I don’t know what it’s about. Is there even a story? Just a group of girls singing badly to bad music because one girl’s blogging. She should be cut off from the web.

Safe these eight minutes of your life. Go do something else. This isn’t worth it.

Plot Summary: Sūko is an idol-loving hikikomori (shut-in) who has one ability: To make any idol popular through the power of blogging. She puts her sights on the Fukuoka idol Itorio and tries to make her more popular, but she is impeded by the charismatic idol Ryūsan and the underground idol Mariko.

Sore ga Seiyuu!

This was a huge let-down for me. I lost interest half-way through. I thought this was going to be something really good since Kenjiro Hata was partly responsible for this. This was definitely not on the same level as Hayate the Combat Butler.

Sore ga Seiyuu! The artwork is so-so. The characters don’t really stand out and their expressions are really off sometimes. I definitely expected a little bit more from it.

The story should’ve been better than this. I heard that manga was quite short, but that the story was quite amusing. This, in my opinion, was quite boring. I don’t see the point of watching twelve or thirteen episodes of this.

It goes without saying that I cannot recommend this. This was a big disappointment for me.

Plot Summary: The world of voice acting is seen through the eyes of Futaba Ichinose, Ichigo Moesaki, and Rin Kohana, three rookie voice actresses.
