Aldnoah.Zero 2

Everyone knew this was coming. The first season ended with a cliffhanger and the popularity of Aldnoah.Zero was skyrocketing. It is definitely a great mecha-genre anime that could rank way up there with Gundam and Neon Genesis Evangelion.

Aldnoah.Zero 2The artwork is superb. No doubt about that. The level of detail is incredible, especially on those old mechs. You can actually see the ravages of time on those frames. Not to mention the creativity and uniqueness.

The story is nothing to laugh at either. It’s very interesting and very tense right now. One of the characters that was supposed to be good switched over to help another character that was supposed to die. That made a lot of fans very angry.

I am going to watch this? Definitely. I am going to review this? Possibly. Do I recommend this? Oh, absolutely. I have loved every single episode so far and I am pretty sure that won’t change with season two.

Plot Summary: In 1972, the Apollo 17 mission found a hypergate to Mars on the surface of the moon. Upon landing, astronauts discovered an enchanted utility later referred to as “Aldnoah,” giving the astronauts a status of superiority. Soon, many humans have relocated to Mars, and have adapted to the name “Martians.” After Princess Asseylum, a royal Martian princess, descends onto Earth in an attempt to create a treaty between both planets, a war breaks out between Earth and Mars, and Martian soldiers begin to descend from the sky, riding steel giants, intent on exterminating humanity.

Dog Days 3

Only a matter of time before Dog Days got yet another season. The first two were rather successful and the demand for more was pretty big. If this season does as good as the last two then a fourth season is definitely not out of the question.

Dog Days 3The artwork is what I liked most. I watched both season of Dog Days so I can say with utmost confidence that the artwork is really nice. The characters look interesting and cute, the world in which the story unfolds looks really good and the level of detail is surprisingly high. I have no complaints about the artwork.

The story is so simple that I would even let my little niece watch this stuff. It is harmless. It’s just twenty minutes of good, harmless fun each week. Nothing wrong with that.

Do I recommend this? Sure. I wouldn’t want to write about it because I wouldn’t know what to say, but that doesn’t stop me from watching it. I suggest you give it a try.

Plot Summary: In the land of Fronaldo, the Republic of Biscotti has been aggressively attacked by the Lion Kingdom of Galette. Facing potential defeat, Princess Millhiore summons a hero who can save the country. What she gets is Izumi Shinku, a middle-school boy from Japan. Awaiting him in Fronaldo is the task of becoming hero enough to defeat his enemies while learning the peculiar rules of battle in this strange new world.

Shounen Hollywood: Holly Stage for 50

I honestly do not understand why this got another season. The ratings where so bad and I also read somewhere that the sales were very disappointing as well. How could this, based on those results, get another season? I do not understand.

Shounen Hollywood Holly Stage for 50The artwork is what pisses me off the most. It is incredibly girly. Basically, all men in that world look gay. They look gay, they sound gay, they often talk and act gay. It is an insult to all men, the obvious superior sex (facts don’t lie).

It’s a story about gay guys looking to get famous in the entertainment industry. That’s pretty much all I got from the first season and I’ll be damned to watch any more of this if I don’t have to.

I am sorry, but I cannot recommend this. Not even to girls. You might get strange ideas (like sticking a finger up our man’s behind during sexual intercourse). Some things just don’t work out.

Plot Summary: The anime will tell an original story set 15 years after the novel’s story.

It takes place at a fictional theater called Hollywood Tokyo in Harajuku, where members of the idol group “Shounen Hollywood” develop their talents with diligent work and studying.

Soukyuu no Fafner: Dead Aggressor Exodus

You know, I actually saw the first season many, many years ago and I thought these series were ‘okay’. I didn’t love it and I didn’t hate it. I remember it as one of those shows that you don’t mind watching, but don’t intend to re-watch again.

Soukyuu no Fafner Dead Aggressor - ExodusI see, from what I can remember, that they changed the artwork as little as possible. That’s good. I kind of liked the artwork and it would’ve been a shame to suddenly watch different characters.

Story-wise this can be a bit of a loose cannon. The first season was at least. I remember being able to predict what would happen next like two or three episodes a head of time. I hope that won’t be the case with this season.

Recommending this might be tricky. You see, you might have to watch the first season, a show from almost eleven years ago, for this season to make sense. I suggest you try out the first one or two episodes and see what you think. Do you like what you see? Then continue watching.

Plot Summary: Sequel to Soukyuu no Fafner: Dead Aggressor, set two years after Heaven and Earth.

Durarara!!x2 Shou

Okay, Durarara is a hit. It is so successful that it got a second season (this one), a third season, which will start immediately after this one finishes in July, and a fourth season one year from now. I guess they struck oil with this one.

Durarara!!x2 ShouWho can blame them? The artwork looks great. The characters look good, the sceneries are great and the level of detail is pretty impressive. Even a newbie could tell that big-time studios are working on this project and that this is by no means a low budget production.

That’s right, the artwork is great, but it’s the story that makes you keep watching. It’s quite interesting and filled with action. Who doesn’t like that? I don’t know why, but some scenes from season one actually reminded me of the Monogatarie series.

I do fully recommend this. It is a very interesting watch and it is great to look at. And the good news is that there will be a lot more Durarara episodes coming, so eat watch your hearts out!

Plot Summary: A half a year after the events of the first season, Ikebukuro has begun to return to normal. High school is in session, Izaya is back to scheming, and Celty, the legendary headless rider, is still chased by the police as she rides through the town. But a few unusual things have slipped into the mix. Gradually, thanks to outside elements, Ikebukuro will be thrown back into chaos.

Juuou Mujin no Fafnir

I got to say; this season sure has a lot of dragon-related anime. What is up with that? This one turned out to be less enjoyable than some of the others. It just didn’t really interest me from start to finish.

Juuou Mujin no FafnirThe artwork is alright. It’s not great and it’s not that bad. The characters may seem a little plain, but I am afraid that they could work a bit more on the details. Sometimes just don’t look very nice.

I think another problem with this show is the story. It is very vague and kind of hard to follow. Not only is it hard to follow because it’s vague, it is also hard to stay interested enough to keep watching without looking away for a few seconds.

Only die-hard fantasy fans would definitely want to watch this from start to finish. I for one am not sure. I am giving the second episode a chance and after that I’ll just see whether or not I drop this one.

Plot Summary: With the sudden appearance of the monsters that came to be called Dragons, the world had completely changed. Before long, within the human race supernatural girls with the power of the dragons, called “D,” were born. The secret existence of the only male “D,” the boy Mononobe Yuu, was forcefully thrown into the school where the girls of “D” gathered—Midgar, where he saw the naked body of one of the students, Iris. Furthermore, meeting his long-lost sister Mitsuki, Yuu seems to have been enrolled into this school…?! “When there’s really no other choice, Iris, I will—kill you.” “Can I really… believe you?” The curtains open as the “one and only story” about the boy who was supposed to become the strongest assassin and the incompetent girl unfolds—! Unlimited School Battle Action!

Ansatsu Kyoushitsu

This was a huge surprise for me. I thought for sure that I was going to dislike this because of that main character, the alien professor. I thought it was going to be childish and cheap, but it was actually pretty good. I also heard that there’s a special that aired last year. I missed that one.

Ansatsu KyoushitsuThe artwork was surprisingly good. It is quite detailed and the characters, including that yellow alien, look great. I could not call it childish at all. It’s nice, filled with action and there’s a part of me that actually hopes that the alien survives.

The story is equally good. It is very interesting, it is unique and it looks very, very promising. I have always been a sucker for stories that feature an overpowered main character. I always have been and always will be.

I, being surprising myself, do recommend this. I really enjoyed the first episode and I think the remaining twenty-one episodes will be just as good (if not better).

Plot Summary: One day, the moon exploded, leaving it in a perpetual crescent-moon shape. The creature who claims responsibility for the destruction also claims it will destroy the world in March of next year. With powers beyond human comprehension, no military can stand against it. Yet, for some reason, it chooses to take up occupancy as a teacher in the worst class of Kunugigaoka Middle School. The fate of the world rests in the hands of its students, as they have until graduation to figure out how to murder their teacher and collect ten billion yen for saving the world.

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders 2

We all knew this would get another season. They ended the first one with a cliffhanger and already gave us some information about the second season, so yeah… Obvious.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Stardust Crusaders 2I think Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure is well-known for its artwork. You can watch TV and zap through channels, yet you could always pick out this show because of its artwork. That is definitely a good thing.

I am usually not a huge fan of these series, but I really enjoyed the first season and I probably will enjoy the second one as well.

So yeah, I suggest you give this a try. It may not be the kind of artwork you have become accustomed to, but it is still pretty darn nice. And the story doesn’t disappoint either.

Plot Summary: The year is 1987 and 17-year-old Jotaro Kujo finds himself suddenly plagued by a ghost-like entity. Jotaro’s grandfather Joseph Joestar, a veteran of a fight to save humanity fifty years prior, arrives with his own supernatural aura and explains that this power, known as a “Stand,” physically manifests its user’s spirit and can be controlled by its user at will. The sudden emergence of these Stands is revealed to be caused by the revival of the megalomaniacal vampire DIO (the Joestar’s longtime enemy) whose awakening from his century-long slumber has triggered Stands to awaken down the Joestar family line, including in Jotaro’s mother whose uncontrollable Stand will ultimately kill her in a few weeks’ time. Jotaro, Joseph, and their allies have fifty days to locate DIO (using their Stands to thwart DIO’s network of devoted Stand-user minions along the way) and eliminate DIO himself in order to save Jotaro’s mother and prevent DIO’s ambitions of world domination.
