Well, this certainly turned out to be a very mediocre ending. I had such high hopes for Akame ga Kill! I even dreamt about a continuation and what would happen. All of that got destroyed by this dreadful final episode.
So Tatsumi died after all. He powered up at the very last second in order to stop that crazy emperor from destroying the empire and he lost his life in the process. Sure, he will be remembered and everything, but come on… How is this a decent ending? I don’t really care if the protagonist dies in the end. Akame ga Kill! is the sort of show where even the most favoured characters tend to die. I just think it would be a damn shame to kill off more and more in pursuit of an ending that would or, in my case, would not satisfy the viewer. I am just very disappointed.
We all knew that Esdeath would get killed. Could’ve seen that one coming from a mile away. Although I must really admit that Akame surprised me once again with that mode of hers. She was superb. The one weapon that kills people is what made her strong enough to kill Esdeath. That’s pretty poetic. With Esdeath locking herself and Tatsumi up in ice? I am okay with that too. Shows that she really cared of him after all.
What I absolutely despised and refuse to accept was the fact that Leone had to give up her life in order to defeat that evil advisor. She may have completely destroyed his face, which coincidentally gave me a warm, fuzzy feeling inside, but she ended up getting shot after her Imperial Arms was destroyed. She ended dying in a dirty alley. Alone. What a terrible ending that was! She deserved way better than that.Read More
Amazing episode. To think that the next one will end it all. Why did Akame ga Kill! not get twenty-five episodes? I bet all of the viewer’s would’ve loved to see another episode, especially since things just got really good.
All hell broke loose. The emperor and his advisor unleashed their final trump card, an Imperial Arms unlike any other, supposedly the strongest of them all. This enormous machine-like suit was used to blow up part of the city in seconds. It would’ve wiped everything out of Tatsumi and that other dude weren’t fighting him off. That boy completely lost his mind. The only one that he still listened to was that evil advisor of his, which would be the last person on the planet that he should be listening to. He just needs to die quickly.
Anyway, Tatsumi, finally getting a step closer to becoming a real man, took it upon himself to take action. He decided to protect the citizens at any cost. This forced him and his armour, which has adopted the name “evolving armour”, to reach a new level, giving Tatsumi more power and the ability to fly.
Did this actually kill Tatsumi though? They made it seem as though he was dead, but I know better. He is one of the favourites. This may be Akame ga Kill! and all, but that doesn’t mean that they will kill off one of the favourites. I believe that he isn’t dead and that they will kill that advisor and/or emperor and escape from Esdeath’s clutches once again.Read More
So the final battle is about to begin, huh? Good. Something tells me that this won’t be the last we see of Akame ga Kill! I have a feeling that we might get rewarded with yet another season in the future. Akame ga Kill! is growing in popularity.
So the Jaegers suffered a minor setback once again. No problem. It’s not as bad as the revolutionary army. Night Raid has been suffering many great losses during the past few weeks. They lost members and Imperial Arms to Esdeath and her group of Jaegers. The only thing that the revolutionary army has got going for itself right now is that the citizens are rebelling against those in control. They no longer believe in the young king and his evil advisor and are now starting to side with the revolutionary army. Night Raid won’t get another chance like this.
Akame and her long lost sister Kurome decided that it was time for them to settle things once and for all. Akame can easily win if she just ignores Kurome’s desperate attempt for closure. It is only a matter of time before Kurome dies anyway. I don’t see why Akame would have to put her life on the line in order to kill her sister a little bit earlier.
It has been twenty two weeks and I still fail to understand that fat advisor. I know its power that he wants. Absolute power. But I don’t understand some of his actions. I am sure that he wants to be king, but for some reason he needs that boy, especially now that he’s about to awaken Night Raid’s final enemy for this season. He is truly a strange character.Read More
Oh come on… I don’t really mind if they kill off less popular characters like Chelsea, but now they’re actually killing off badass characters that I really didn’t want to see dead. Night Raid keeps getting smaller and smaller…
First thing’s first; Budo died. Mine used up all of her power and may or may not have damaged/destroyed her Imperial Arms, Pumpkin, in order to finish off that cocky man. What bothers me is that it has been said that he could fight Esdeath on equal terms. Really? Is Esdeath so weak that she could get killed by Mine’s blast? Or does it basically depend on the kind of weapon one is using? Esdeath uses ice attacks and Budo uses electricity attacks. I can understand that Budo might have a bit of an edge seeing as water (and I’m pretty sure ice as well) conducts electricity, putting Esdeath in a rough spot. But no, I don’t think he could ever beat Esdeath.
Susanoo is dead. Once again another great character had to be sacrificed so that Tatsumi, a whinny child that does not live up to his words, may be saved. That was not an equal exchange, even if Budo got killed. Susanoo is what made Najenda strong. Now she’s just another woman with abnormal strength and a fake arm that she can eject towards things. Not really much of a threat.
Night Raid only has five members now. Sure, the Jaegers only have four, but they have Chelsea’s Imperial Arms and Sheele’s Imperial Arms. God only knows how many more of those weapons they have. They just need to find suitable people to wield those weapons in order to outnumber Night Raid. Things are not looking good for Night Raid right now.Read More
That’s right. I knew this would happen. I told you! Normally I’d start another flame war when something happens that I already saw coming a long time ago, but not this time. I am very happy with this episode and I don’t think I would’ve changed a thing.
Lubbock is dead. I knew it would happen sooner or later because of his attitude. The guy has a problem with women. He becomes incredibly vulnerable whenever there’s a girl involved. He suddenly becomes this gentlemen and slightly lets his guard down. I knew that he was going to be next when I saw him fight against those two freaks a few weeks ago. That is why it came as no surprise that there was yet again another woman involved right before he died. He couldn’t even see her coming when she tried to stab him in the back (literally).
Mind you, Lubbock, although he is weird and has serious issues, was one of my favourite characters. I prefer him over Tatsumi, actually. What can I say? The guy was a total badass that never stopped thinking about his next move. He even managed to take down that guy, Shura I believe, before he died. Now that was definitely a total badass that died this week.
And Tatsumi? Useless (as usual). The guy did nothing. He couldn’t do anything to help, he couldn’t do anything to get them out of there and he even ended up getting captured. I don’t care if he was up against a guy that could fight head to head against Esdeath. Getting captured (again) was just stupid. Now we’ll have to wait another week to see what Esdeath will do to him.Read More
See? Do you finally see? God may actually exist! I am joking, of course. God, in my eyes, has the same status as Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck; all fictional and made by man. Nevertheless, this episode was definitely one to be remembered.
It started out really casual, too. Nothing was wrong. Tatsumi was once again making promises that he probably won’t keep any itme soon and the rest of the group were planning their next moves. Nothing wrong with that. If you are going to assassinate an evil preacher that turns women into his sex slaves, than it’s a given that you need careful planning if you are up against the Jaegers and the last of the four “great demons”.
Was I surprised that Tatsumi managed to handle her on his own? Quite. I did not think he had it in him. Mind you, he did quite a lot of running. For a second there I thought he would run away again. But no, he held his own and actually managed to defeat that girl and save Mine just in time. He was actually a hero this time.
Now then, on to something great! Seryuu is dead! Not only is Seryuu dead, but Mine actually defeated her Imperial Arms, Coro, before he defeated her. Her battle was really tough and unfair, but she held her own and defeated two strong enemies on her own. That is why Mine cannot be killed off. She is too damn adorable and good.
Is Lubbock going to die next week? I don’t know. Next week’s preview sure gives that impression, but he could just end up being teleported to some location, just like with Tatsumi and Esdeath. I’m more interested in the fight between Najena, Susanoo and Esdeath. I already know that Lubbock is going to die at some point, but I have no idea which boss is going to win.Read More
Oh here we go again. Tatsumi lost someone else again and vowed, once again, to work hard to rid the world of all evil. That guy sure has a lot of talk, but when it’s time to man up and rise to the occasion… Well… He just doesn’t measure up.
First thing’s first; Lubbock is going to die. He just is. They always focus on characters and their flaws when they’re about to get killed. This week they focussed on Lubbock’s kindness and suggested that it may be the end of him. I mean, the guy had the opportunity to play dead and get off without as much as a scratch after getting knocked down. I know that doesn’t sound very chivalrous, but he fighting those two freaks could have killed him instead of the other way around. Just like with Chelsea and her way of straying from her usual method of playing it safe; he too will pay the ultimate price.
It is no secret that I’m not exactly a big Tatsumi fan. I am going for Leone all the way. But why does that guy have to be so weak? He would lose to any one of the Jaegers. In fact, I doubt he would even dare to attack either one of them on his own like that. I’m still remembering that episode where he ran for dear life when Wave was after him.
Night Raid has already lost three members and they might lose a fourth soon. This would be a good time to stay together, find a weakness in the Jaegers’ defence and mount an all-out attack in the hopes of killing all of them. They certainly no longer have any decent assassins in their team right now. Well, maybe Akame…Read More
Ha! I feel as though I have won a jackpot or something. Of course, god forbid me from having such luck, but still… Being spot-on with my predictions is almost as good. I’m not saying the story is predictable or anything like that, but things kind of became clear when they focussed too much on certain things.
Poor Chelsea… I really liked that character. She had a ridiculously cute laugh and always managed to put a smile on my face, especially when she transformed into that animal in order to steal Mine’s cake. I just can’t get that scene out of my head. Nevertheless, she died a badass. She took out Bols by exploiting his weakness of cute things. She pretended to be a little girl that got caught up by that explosion in order to get in close for the kill. She tried to do the same thing with Kurome, which almost succeeded if Kurome wasn’t such a monstrosity, and ended up paying for it with her life, as I kind of expected.
I must say that I never expected for it to happen during this episode. I knew Bols was going to die because of his position and the fact that he used his ultimate attack and failed. I knew Chelsea was going to die because she altered her attitude towards battle (because of Tatsumi?) and got too cocky. She wanted too much too fast.
Did Chelsea deserve it to have her head end up on a stake for all to see? No. I hope that Tatsumi goes berserk one of these days and finishes them off. I know that something like that won’t happen, but I can always be hopeful. Just as long as Seryuu and Kurome die and Leone makes a full recovery. I don’t think I could get used to a one-armed Leone.Read More
