Blade and Soul episode 13

Shocking. Absolutely shocking. I didn’t really expect much to begin with, but to air this and present it as the very last episode is just shocking. I will delete this episode from my memory and collection. I refuse to accept this episode as the final episode.

[HorribleSubs] Blade and Soul - 13 [720p].mkv_snapshot_06.42_[2014.06.28_23.18.28]I am going to keep this episode short because it’s painful just trying to remember what happened when all I want to do is forget I ever saw it. It has nothing to do with the story. In fact, it I could barely recognize the characters because it was so incredibly ridiculous. I will never understand why this episode was created and aired.

I saw more fan service crap in this one episode than in the first twelve. It was horrendous. What kind of person would I enjoy watching a bunch of perverted fish mutants and their obsessions for busty blondes? Blade and Soul may not have met my expectations in the end, but it didn’t deserve an episode like this one. What a darn shame.

Blade and Soul episode 12

Another strange episode. I have no idea what it’s about anymore. The story has completely collapsed and I no longer see the point of following this. I would’ve dropped Blade and Soul if it weren’t for the fact that the next episode will be the last.

[HorribleSubs] Blade and Soul - 12 [720p].mkv_snapshot_05.05_[2014.06.21_23.20.07]I can’t see myself writing a normal review about this episode so I am going to keep it short and simple. What happened to the story? It used to be interesting and entertaining. I never would’ve thought that it would become this boring and uninteresting. I should’ve picked Mushishi instead of this one. I truly messed up.

So Jin was being controlled by that woman whom is now dead thanks to that big guy. Jin will not have to find a way to live with herself and the evil empire, which is still as evil as ever, no longer sees Aruka as a threat now that she’s become human (wasn’t she human to begin with?) What kind of messed up story is that? Aruka has become a boring character. I can’t wait to end this crap next week.

Blade and Soul episode 11

Well, so much for a good story… It all just went down the drain. I really should’ve chosen Mushishi instead of Blade and Soul. I should’ve known that there was a catch. The story always suffers eventually with game-adapted anime.

[HorribleSubs] Blade and Soul - 11 [720p].mkv_snapshot_21.50_[2014.06.14_23.44.24]I knew that Jin would come back. Something was wrong when Aruka stuck her blade in her chest. It was too easy and too fast. What’s the point? Now it seems as though Jin is just a toy and the real enemy isn’t even known yet. Not that it matters, seeing as Aruka was too busy finding herself and fighting that busty blonde that I hated from the start.

What can we expect next week? Another predictable outcome where Aruka and her “allies” have to retreat until they become strong enough to take on the new and improved Jin Varel? What’s the point? There are only two episodes left and I’m pretty sure there’s not going to be a second season. The game is not nearly popular enough and the anime adaption turned out to be worse.

Blade and Soul episode 10

Oh god… I see a bad ending coming. I don’t mean bad as in “the bad guys” will win in the end. No, I’m talking about a poor, predictable ending. See? Game-adapted anime often lack a good story, although this one started out pretty good.

[HorribleSubs] Blade and Soul - 10 [720p].mkv_snapshot_05.48_[2014.06.07_23.07.36]You know, I hate to see Aruka like this. I really do. She’s actually become so weak and emotional that she cannot even protect herself from a couple of hungry wolves. I mean, she nearly got killed when she tried to escape from some unknown attackers. How low does that character have to sink before the story picks up again? She’s incredibly useless right now.

The worst part is her mental state. It’s like she wasn’t aware of the fact that she has killed people at all. She’s killed many dozens if not hundreds of people. Why is she so disoriented after discovering that she killed that blonde b*tch’s husband? It was her job and the guy wasn’t a sweetheart to begin with. Why now? It just doesn’t make sense…

[HorribleSubs] Blade and Soul - 10 [720p].mkv_snapshot_17.10_[2014.06.07_23.07.53]It got even worse when it turns out that Jin, the one that killed Aruka’s master, isn’t actually dead. At least not yet. Aruka stabbed her through the heart and we were led to believe that she was killed, but now it seems like she’s still alive. It seems that getting stabbed by Aruka was part of her plan to probably become stronger somehow. The strangest thing is that I don’t actually mind. She might be the key to Aruka’s recovery. I don’t know is this episode has set Aruka back on the path of total carnage, but I know that Jin might be able to help her with that.

Blade and Soul episode 09

This episode pissed me off so much that I can’t even think clearly. I won’t rewrite this post or edit it in anyway, just like my other posts, so I’m sorry if I offend anybody. Even more so now that the story is still following the exact same pattern.

[HorribleSubs] Blade and Soul - 09 [720p].mkv_snapshot_05.59_[2014.05.30_23.06.45]Remember how I raged about Blade and Soul’s annoying pattern? This week’s exactly the same… Aruka becomes an employee of that blonde and makes a new friend that showed her the ropes and supported her. At the end she, too, was killed just for coming in contact with Aruka. When will this pattern end already!?

I cannot believe that Aruka accepted a proposal to become a waitress. That’s not like her. She’s hard-core and awesome. Watching her serve people food and drinks was just annoying. Watching her become emotional was even worse. What the hell happened to the ice cold character that I loved in episode one?

[HorribleSubs] Blade and Soul - 09 [720p].mkv_snapshot_14.02_[2014.05.30_23.06.57]Of course, what pissed me off most is that Karen, that blonde b*tch, turned out to be an enemy after all. I knew it. I never liked that character and always thought that something was off. I just knew it. To see Aruka fall into her trap like that was so aggravating and disappointing that I almost decided to drop the show altogether.

The very worst part is that I can’t really blame Karen either. I mean, Aruka killed her beloved husband. I can somewhat understand her losing her mind over that. I can somewhat understand her wanting to torture Aruka as much as she can. Still, I don’t like Karen so I’m hoping that Aruka will get another power boost by turning back to her old ways in order to kill that two-faced b*tch. No mercy, no retreat!

Blade and Soul episode 08

What a strange episode. I thought for sure that we’d have to wait a couple more weeks before we’d get to see this. That’s the problem with game-adapted anime. The stories sometimes get really strange and turn out to be quite messy.

[HorribleSubs] Blade and Soul - 08 [720p].mkv_snapshot_04.31_[2014.05.24_23.18.11]Remember that funny-looking character with the animal airs, paws and tail? Well, he’s back, and I’m not talking about that little runt that keeps selling out Aruka for profit. I’m talking about that strange character that had privilege of training under the same master as Aruka. You’d think that the two of them would make a great team. One would have the ability of the sword, something that continues to write history, and the other has the ability to control energy. That would’ve been an interesting team-up if it weren’t for the fact that Jin killed him. Too bad. I actually started to like that character.

[HorribleSubs] Blade and Soul - 08 [720p].mkv_snapshot_16.58_[2014.05.24_23.18.42]The strange part is that Aruka immediately avenged his death by powering up (I think) and killing Jin with one of her blades. This is very surprising. Isn’t that was this whole thing was about? Aruka has killed the one that killed her master and friends. The code has been honoured and she no longer has any reason to fight those guys.

Sadly, it got even stranger. Jin’s friends watched her die and they did not look sad. In fact, it seemed as things were going according to their plan. I don’t like that. What’s the point? Did Jin even die? Or will she somehow resurrect and become even stronger than before? The story has become so strange that anything’s possible at this point.

Blade and Soul episode 07

Are you ready for something really strange? Well, here we go. Blade and Soul is like marrying an undercover dude. You think you are marrying a beautiful woman, only to pull down her panties during your wedding night to get slapped in the face by a piece of meat that’s bigger than yours.

[HorribleSubs] Blade and Soul - 07 [720p].mkv_snapshot_03.02_[2014.05.17_23.05.04]Blade and Soul, believe it not, is a lot like that. You think you are about to watch an awesome episode, only to realize that the story is still following the same pattern. Aruka makes friends at first and follows them around, but at the ending it all goes bad and those characters just end up dead somehow. Not much of a story…

Blade and Soul has lost its magic. This pattern is killing me and I don’t even care anymore about what happens next. I’m sure that Aruka will end up meeting new characters next week and that some of them end up dead or hurt. This will probably continue until Aruka gets the chance to finally get revenge on Varel for killing her master.

Blade and Soul episode 06

This post will have to be cut short because of one simple reason; I have no idea what’s going on anymore. Really, this episode was so incredibly confusing that it makes me wonder why I’m even watching Blade and Soul.

[HorribleSubs] Blade and Soul - 06 [720p].mkv_snapshot_02.37_[2014.05.09_23.34.19]Forget about Aruka. The episode focusses on a group of people and their obsession to destroy the Palam Empire. What happens though? First one of them seems to betray them by dealing with Palam, the little guy, a little animal-human boy that also seems to have been trained by the same master as Aruka, found out and solved it by doing the exact same thing he did. How the hell does that even work?

Not only does it seem that Varel, the “evil character”, seems to have left her superiors (I may be wrong), but it also seems that Aruka is not alone. She might meet up with that animal boy in order to take on Varel together as a team. This is all just pure, pointless speculation. I have no idea what to think of this episode or of the next one. I just hope it won’t be as confusing as this one.
