Engaged to the Unidentified episode 04

What the hell? I thought that I started to get a grasp on Engaged to the Unidentified. I thought that I was finally starting to understand where they were going with this until I finished watching this episode. The plot thickens once more…

[HorribleSubs] Engaged to the Unidentified - 04 [720p].mkv_snapshot_03.47_[2014.02.01_23.18.19]So yeah, the ever-so-cute Kobeni-chan got sick. She has been overworked, overstressed and overestimated. They thought that she could deal with anything and everything at once. It ended up taking its toll, after which she ended up in bed due to a terrible dizzy spell. This all sounds serious and bad, but you need to see this for what it truly was; a golden opportunity for Hakuya to score some love-love points. He could’ve taken care of her, stayed by her side and in the end reached a new level in their messed up relationship. That would’ve been the ‘expected’ situation.

[HorribleSubs] Engaged to the Unidentified - 04 [720p].mkv_snapshot_12.38_[2014.02.01_23.19.21]Yes… What happened though? Kobeni lost her cool and might have said one or two things in the heat of the moment, causing Hakuya, not unlike a high-speed bullet, to run off like you wouldn’t believe. Seriously, what was up with that? Perhaps his father is Sonic, a blue hedgehog that can run and roll faster than the speed of light?

I honestly don’t know what to think anymore. More and more question marks keep popping up around Hakuya and Mashiro and I am starting to believe that most sites have forgotten to add “supernatural” as a genre. There definitely has to be a reason as to why the Mitsumine family has so much influence. I need to know!

Engaged to the Unidentified episode 03

This episode really makes you wonder what the hell is going to happen from here on out. It really isn’t nice of me to say, but there hasn’t been a lot of progress lately. What is it that we can expect from Engaged to the Unidentified?

[Underwater] Mikakunin de Shinkoukei - Engaged to the Unidentified - 03 (720p) [99ED4F9C].mkv_snapshot_03.59_[2014.01.23_23.06.57]I’m glad that the comedy isn’t declining yet. All the characters are still very funny and very, very adorable. The fact remains that there hasn’t been a lot of progress. Kobeni still sees Hakuya as some kind of invader. She cannot understand, read or properly communicate with him. All she knows right now is that he likes her and her cooking.

I’m actually a bit surprised that Benio isn’t changing her personality a little. She clearly realized that there are a lot of people that think her attitude towards her younger sister and Mashiro is inappropriate. Does she alter her behaviour? Hell no. She is still going strong. Her loli addiction overpowers her ability to think rationally.

It’s sad to say that the outcome is rather predictable, but the road on which we travel still holds many surprise, that I’m sure of. But hey, let’s face it; Hakuya will either end up marrying Kobeni after all or it won’t work out in the end, after which he will probably move back home. Those are really the two only outcomes. There is no in-between. We just need to focus on how we will get to that point and enjoy the story as much as we can, which will be no easy task when you kind of know the ending already.

Engaged to the Unidentified episode 02

A seven and a half average for Engaged to the Unidentified… How is that even remotely reasonable? This is by far one of the more enjoyable shows this season. What else would you like to watch? Pupa? Hoozuki no Reitetsu? No thank you. I’d much rather have this.

[Underwater] Mikakunin de Shinkoukei - Engaged to the Unidentified - 02 (720p) [517D3FB4].mkv_snapshot_08.16_[2014.01.16_21.55.24]One cannot help but notice that Mashiro constantly steals the spotlight. That character is cuteness overkill. She is constantly interfering with others, keeping a close eye on Kobeni-chan and keeping as far away from Benio as she can. Marrying a strange guy is one thing, but having to endure his meddlesome younger sister might not make it so tempting. Keep in mind that Mashiro-chan will grow up as time goes on. She may be cute now, now that she’s still “innocent”, but that will soon change when she enters puberty and all the cuteness just fades away.

He saved Kobeni from a painful death if I’m not mistaken, but she can’t remember anything about what happened back then. Hakuya wants to keep it a secret so that it doesn’t affect her decision about whether or not they should get married. Very interesting…

Also, I wouldn’t mind to get to know the Mitsumine family a bit more. Are they some kind of Yakuza family? They sure seem to have a lot of influence. Seriously, why isn’t mystery not amongst the genres? There are so many questions that I want answered and only ten episodes left to answer those questions… Is going to be close…

Mikakunin de Shinkoukei

The hell was this? It thought it was going to be a feminine school-girl anime about their daily life and how they cope with their insignificant teenage problems. This turned out so much better than I could’ve ever imagined. I dare call it a must-write. We’ll see… If my schedule allows for it…

Mikakunin de ShinkoukeiThe artwork is great. I love all the characters. Mashiro is absolutely adorable and I think Hakuya is pretty cool. His ignorance is perfect. I simply can’t get over the details. It was a delight watch and I’m really looking forward to see more.

The story is definitely the cream whip to this tasty treat. A boy suddenly shows up on a sixteen year-old girl’s doorstep and turns out to be her fiancé? He even brings his cute little sister? How freakishly hilarious is that!? I would’ve probably passed out if I were in Kobeni’s shoes. Poor girl…

There’s no doubt in my mind that this show will be a success with a combination this good. The artwork is great and the story is incredibly amusing. I recommend this show to all. I have enjoyed myself during the first episode and I’m positive that the rest will be just as good.

Plot Summary: Yonomi Kobeni, an ordinary girl, finds out on her 16th birthday that she is betrothed to Mitsumine Hakuya, a boy the same age as her. Hakuya moves in from the countryside and starts living with her, bringing his younger sister who is still a primary school student with him.
