I wish the studio behind Utawarerumono: Itsuwari no Kamen would take a good look at Gate so that they might learn what a good ending is all about. Honestly… Gate never disappoints, does it? It’s been a rollercoaster since the very beginning.
The only injustice is that it’s over. I can only hope that there’s going to be another season of this. That warrior bunny and that cocky prince survived even though they were both defeated. That cannot be called justice. That prince is still at large and even though princess Pina will be the empire’s new ruler the guy still does have power.
I wanted to see so much more of Rory-chan and those other demi-gods, which is exactly why I am hoping for at least a third season. The thought of things ending at a point where that prince and warrior bunny are still at large, where Pina’s about to be crowned and where Rory-chan still has not yet been set free from that god is not an ending at all.Read More
Man… The thought of Gate ending is really upsetting. Why give Assassination Classroom so man episodes and Gate so few? I would rather have it the other way, seeing as Gate has so much more to offer in the long run.
I could summarize this week’s episode by simply calling it an epic turn of events, but that wouldn’t do it justice. It was fantastic to see how the JSDF came into action by send out choppers, paratroopers and various other armed forces to fight off hostile soldiers and protect that palace and the people inside. I could do with more of that.
Also, the look on that fool’s face as his empire was being overrun was absolutely priceless. I still hate the fact that they’re completely oblivious to the fact that he’s obviously being manipulated by his own slave. Oh well… At least the guy’s losing leverage bit by bit. He’ll lose a lot if Youji actually manages to rescue the princess.Read More
What the hell is going on with this week? It keeps getting worse. I have been having trouble sleeping, I always seem to find myself in traffic jams and today one of my pet snakes has passed away… Seriously… What the hell is going on?
I can only hope that the next Gate episode will be absolutely epic now that the JSDF is finally going to take action by defending the Jade Palace. It shouldn’t take them long to take care of that insane prince without creating a huge bloodbath. Just snipe the living hell out of him or order one of the spies in the palace to assassinate him.
Let’s face it; things keep getting worse. That slave girl’s plan is going smoothly. Even princess Pina has been imprisoned by her own brother. A single bullet between the eyes of both that slave girl and the prince should be enough to solve all of their problems. Either that or the old emperor could be cured soon so he can undo all damage his idiotic son has done to his empire.Read More
I consider this episode to be the calm before the storm. I won’t even bother wasting any time by writing about the Japanese media. Life is way too short to be concerned about something as corrupt as politics or the media.
Still, I do have to admit that I’m rather interested in knowing why those politicians are so eager to send out soldiers to ‘protect’ the peace by taking over the empire if they absolutely have to. I cannot help but wonder about what they would gain from doing that. Is it because they want that suicidal girl back as soon as possible? Surely that can’t be it.
Youji is basically standing in the middle of it. He is with his party (as usual) and he does not know that his superiors are about to give an order that might very have a huge impact on that world. People are going to get killed if they don’t realize soon that they’re being manipulated by an evil bunny-girl, which is something I thought that I would never say in my lifetime.Read More
How do they do it? How does Gate keep on getting better and better? I’m not even worried about the ending. Either they’ll give us one hell of an ending or they’re going to prepare for a third season if they haven’t already.
I’m putting my hopes on a third season. Gate definitely deserves at least one more. Not even because there are still many questions to be answered and stones to be unturned. We haven’t even met that world’s so-called god yet. I’m sure the JSDF will have an opinion about that as well, but can they beat immortals?
Heck, I don’t care. I’m still putting all my chips on the JSDF. So what if those politicians care about their own position before they consider the position others are in? People always have the ability to make decisions of their very own, even if their superiors tell them to do the exact opposite. I think that’s one of the things that makes Gate great.Read More
Let’s start this post off with some good news (for me): my foot is apparently not broken. The bad news is that it still hurts like hell and that I refuse to keep this post short since there’s so much I want to say about it.
I’ll just start this off by saying that I hate how things are going right now. That old king may not have left their world just yet. He’s still alive (barely) for the time being. But they still need a leader, so to my surprise that cocky prince ended up being crowned king after all instead of the superior Pina-chan or his other, smarter brother. That warrior bunny girl’s plan is going smoothly and the JSDF still has no idea what’s going on right now. They’re currently on guard now that a prince that they humiliated has been crowned king.
We all know that blondy is going after revenge. He doesn’t care of his people will end up getting annihilated. He only cares about power and about getting revenge on the JSDF for humiliating him in front of his father and other followers. The guy has no idea that his castle has already been compromised by JSDF spies that are ready to strike at any time.
One thing is certain; that guy is not cut out to be king. He already gave the order to ruin the JSDF’s reputation throughout their world and now there are assassin’s after our beloved blue-haired mage. Still, I guess it’s not all bad. We ended up learning quite a bit about the gate that connects their worlds. I wonder how long it will stay open for…Read More
Another hectic episode that makes you want to pull your hair out. I don’t mind building up suspense or making a villain look particularly evil at certain points, but at least try to make these things less obvious and less predictable.
The author should’ve done it like he/she does it when introducing new characters. I mean, they introduced a new character when we weren’t expecting it at all. To think that our beloved blue-haired mage had a big sister… I would never have guessed. That’s where they shine. But then they kind of drop the ball when it comes to dramatic scenes because you can already see what’s coming. We all know that the prince’s slave will be discovered soon and she will pay for it with her life. I’m pretty certain that it’s going to be the JSDF that will solve it.
It was painfully obvious. The king holds some kind of ceremony where all sorts of influential figures show up and where they discuss and celebrate all sorts of things. And what happens? A toast of course. The possibility of his drink being poisoned was painfully obvious. It could go either way here; the king dies and a new king will be crowned or the JSDF will save the king’s life with their modern medicine.
I am inclined to bet on the latter. I doubt it’ll be that easy for that slave and her henchmen to kill a king. In fact; I am kind of hoping that the JSDF will save his life so that he’ll be in their debt. I just don’t want to see that cocky, insane prince being crowned a king. That will ultimately lead to their destruction at the hands of the mighty JSDF.Read More
What a great episode! It’s too bad that I only have half an hour to write, sort and schedule this post, otherwise I would’ve loved to spend more time writing up a big post that expresses my thoughts more thoroughly.
I’ll just have to be direct; I love it that we finally met another apostle. Rory-chan is still by far my favourite, but this new character, whom looks like a dragon, is not cute at all. She’s cocky and kind of petty. I wouldn’t mind seeing Rory being freed from the grasp of that so-called god that Rory is supposed to marry.
No surprise that they managed to slay that dragon. Nor was it very surprising that its young were easily killed as well. I just find it surprising that this “contract” business is actually real. All damage done to Youji will be transferred to Rory. I’m starting to doubt her immortality right now. I’ll be looking forward to seeing how this develops. I need to know what happens next. Fast.Read More
