Grisaia no Kajitsu episode 05

Yep, I totally regret picking this over Ookami Shoujo to Kuro Ouji. The story is quite boring. The only thing that keeps me interested are the subtle panty flashes. That’s right. I am sticking around because of panties. That’s how we roll in the Shire.

[HorribleSubs] Grisaia no Kajitsu - 05 [720p].mkv_snapshot_03.44_[2014.11.04_22.44.11]So that Kitten died and Michiru ended up losing her mind (or indeed one of her (many?) personalities). The personality that didn’t really care about life was the one that remained and it seemed to bother Yuuji to a point where he decided to help out in order to bring back that “other” Michiru. Was this really based on a visual novel you might wonder? It obviously was.

Yuuji even ended up pulling a few strings in order to find out more about Michiru’s family. They even referred to his “job”, making it ever so obvious that he probably doesn’t pay taxes (i.e. his job is either illegal or it is off the records). They will either tell us more about it soon or they won’t tell us at all and continue this pointless charade.

Grisaia no Kajitsu episode 04

I suppose I should just come out and say it; I regret picking Grisaia no Kajitsu to write about. There is no storyline whatsoever. We are just following those strange students around, that’s it. I find it very hard to write about anime like that. I should’ve picked Ookami Shoujo to Kuro Ouji, which turned out to be good.

[HorribleSubs] Grisaia no Kajitsu - 04 [720p].mkv_snapshot_08.28_[2014.10.28_23.40.00]It is safe to assume that each character is going to be put in the spotlight each week? Michiru got lucky this week. It was her turn. Those scenes where the characters thought that she was an alien because she occasionally bleaches her hair like an idiot were kind of strange. I laughed, that’s not the problem, but I still could not see the value of it.

The only thing worthy of attention is the serious possibility that Michiru might have a multiple personality disorder. Personality A is curious and more serious and ended up kissing Yuuji. Personality B is playful and energetic and couldn’t remember kissing Yuuji. I suppose I could call that interesting? We’ll just have to wait and see where they’re going with this.

Grisaia no Kajitsu episode 03

I was afraid this would happen. I am already starting to slowly lose interest in this show. We are three episodes in and I’m still wondering what it’s all about. What is the point of it? Is there a goal that we need to keep in mind? We’re just going in circles right now.

[HorribleSubs] Grisaia no Kajitsu - 03 [720p].mkv_snapshot_01.25_[2014.10.21_23.06.05]What kind of start was this anyway? The protagonist thought that he had to defend himself once more from some insane character that tries to go after his life. Instead a girl just picks the lock on his door in order to fake masturbating on his bed because she knew he was watching. Just what kind of start is this? Is this going to be a regular thing?

Even I admit that it is really funny at times. And I like to laugh, too. But at least give me something to look forward to. Even “going with the flow” becomes quite boring after a while. This is a perfect example of that. Nothing new has happened since Yuuji transferred to that strange school. Nothing new whatsoever.

[HorribleSubs] Grisaia no Kajitsu - 03 [720p].mkv_snapshot_17.00_[2014.10.21_23.06.50]I am just looking for a story here. I don’t care if girls are after him. I don’t care of some girls wish to be his girlfriend, sister or grandmother in order to get closer to him for some reason. All I want at this point is a clear picture of what I can expect from this otherwise pointless story. I thought that this anime, which was adapter from some erotic visual novel (obviously), was one of those rare exceptions, but I am starting to believe that I was wrong all along. Please, Grisaia no Kajitsu, prove that I wasn’t wrong about this show!

Grisaia no Kajitsu episode 02

Sold! I certainly am. When you usually lay eyes upon a couple of girls whose panties are regularly visible to the viewers, you’d think that it’d be a tacky show with a lot of fan service. That has never once crossed my mind. It is very subtle and somehow very nice.

[HorribleSubs] Grisaia no Kajitsu - 02 [720p].mkv_snapshot_04.28_[2014.10.14_22.43.10]I am completely ignoring the fact that this is based on some erotic game. I also believe that there is a manga out there, but I am not sure if that’s erotic as well. The reason why I have decided to write about Grisaia no Kajitsu is because of its subtlety and the cloud of mystery that surrounds the protagonist. It makes you want to find out what it is that he’s hiding, doesn’t it? Most of us already has some idea of what it is that he usually does, which is killing people for the government and/or some organisation. That much we can piece together ourselves. It’s his past that I want to know more about.

[HorribleSubs] Grisaia no Kajitsu - 02 [720p].mkv_snapshot_15.41_[2014.10.14_22.43.35]Anyway, Yuuji is new at school and he immediately realized that he is the only male there. Lucky b*st*rd. He made it one of his objectives to ensure that he fits in, so he tried to befriend everyone. Mikan was a little shy at first, but now she, too, has become befriended with him. All he has to do is win over Yumiko, the one girl that wants him dead.

But you know, wanting someone dead and actually trying to kill someone on a daily basis are two entirely different things. I am not even amazed by the fact that Yuuji stopped every one of her attacks. I’m more focussed on the role that she plays in that school. She was the very first student and she seems to know a lot more about that school than the others. If only Yuuji can win her over…

Grisaia no Kajitsu

I just finished watching an amazing episode from an amazing show. I’m not talking about Grisaia no Kajitsu this time. This is one was based on an erotic visual novel and I do believe there is a manga out there as well, so my expectations of this aren’t really high.

Grisaia no KajitsuThe artwork is okay. It’s better than I had expected. I was going in a different direction when I learned about that visual novel. Goes to show that you just cannot judge a book by its cover.

It’s probably the story that’s going to be the problem. I find that visual novels don’t always have the best of stories, although I have to be honest and say that I haven’t got a lot of experience with them. I’ve played about a dozen of them in my life and half of them didn’t contain any major nudity, so I have very little knowledge when it comes to visual novels.

I must be honest and say that the first episode really caught my eye. It was quite interesting. I was also impressed that those panty flashes were subtle, giving me the impression that I won’t have to worry about fan service overdoses. I suggest you give the first episode a try too.

Plot Summary: Mihama Academy—on the surface, a closed learning environment established to nurture students who find themselves at odds with the world around them; in actuality, an orchard-cum-prison built to preserve fruit that has fallen too far from its tree.

Whatever the circumstances behind its establishment, Mihama Academy is at present home to five female students, all with their own reasons for “enrollment.” For better or worse, each girl has established a routine obliging of her current situation; life moves at an idle, yet accommodating pace within the walls of Mihama.

Yet with the arrival of the institute’s first male student, the nearly preposterously opaque Kazami Yuuji, the students at Mihama begin to fall out of step with their predetermined rhythms. Will Yuuji prove to be the element the girls around him needed to take hold of their lives once more, or will the weight of their pasts prove too steep a wall to overcome?

And in the first place, just who is Kazami Yuuji? While the true nature of the “job” he is wont to alight to at the most haphazard of moments remains shrouded in secrecy, one thing is for certain—his encroachment upon the quiet orchard known as Mihama Academy will prove itself momentous in one way or another. And of course, one cannot discount the possibility that perhaps Yuuji himself carries the weightiest past of any of the students…
