Hataraku Maou-sama! episode 05

I’m so happy I could actually cry. Wait, GameDemon! Quickly, look down and remind yourself that you are in possession of a ten inch piston, which makes you a man. When the hell did I stop bottling up my emotions like normal men? God…

[FFF] Hataraku Maou-sama! - 05 [CAA2CC24].mkv_snapshot_02.28_[2013.05.04_23.12.04]I still can’t get over how great this season is. So many different and amazing shows, it really did make me want to shed a tear, especially when it turned out that Lucifer, one of Sadao’s old generals, turned out to have a partner from Emi’s side of the fence. How funny is that!? The look on Emi’s face was absolutely priceless. I won’t ever forgot it!

Lucifer decided to attack his former master with the help of a priest. Lucifer, if successful, would gain control of all demons and that priest would become the ruler of all mankind. That’s the dumbest agreement so far, considering the two would still be enemies in an ingoing war between demons and humans.

[FFF] Hataraku Maou-sama! - 05 [CAA2CC24].mkv_snapshot_17.41_[2013.05.04_23.15.16]I’m going to skip past the fact that Sadao and his “friends” defeated Lucifer and his bald companion way too quickly. I want to focus a bit more on the fact that Chiho now knows Sadao’s secret and still seems to like him. She’s actually aware of the fact that she’s in love with a demon lord… What the hell is wrong with that girl? This is one messed up love triangle.

It’s the kind of change of events that makes me want to watch even more. How in the hell are Emi and Sadao going to end up together if Chiho won’t back off? Oh, and please, don’t send me any emails about how they won’t end up together. I’m not going to argue about something so obvious, sorry…

Hataraku Maou-sama! episode 04

The only problem with this episode is that it was a little bit predictable. Those that have been paying attention knew it would end up this way eventually. The fast pace is the only thing that really surprised me, sadly.

[FFF] Hataraku Maou-sama! - 04 [2948B427].mkv_snapshot_06.31_[2013.04.27_22.53.55]I must admit that I absolutely loved it that they showed us how and where Emi grew up. She was so cute back then. Also, it’s nice to know that she’s not completely human, which would probably make her somewhat of an outcast, even though she’s their hero. Nobody likes the unknown or other people with power, so I’m sure she must have (had) enemies within her country. Isn’t that how things usually work? There’s someone with a lot of power, there are others that want to profit from that, and then there’s the end where those without power try to obtain power (one way or the other).

[FFF] Hataraku Maou-sama! - 04 [2948B427].mkv_snapshot_18.06_[2013.04.27_22.54.18]I also liked it that Sadao is finally getting his power back, even though this episode showed no sign of that. He went back to being a ‘pathetic’ human. Emi was surprised too, but she was more concerned about why he helped all those humans survive. Not that we can blame her, of course. Sadao took away her father, so she has every right to be mad. That makes me even more curious about how they are going to fall in love. After all, Sadao took away someone very dear to her. It’s going to be though.

Anyway, it’s kind of disappointing that the culprit behind the attacks really was one of Sadao’s old generals. He thought they were all killed when Emi and her forces attacked, but no… He is alive, he is healthy and he has the power to take care of Sadao and Emi. It’s probably going to be one of those you-lost-your-chance-so-now-it’s-my-turn-stories. We’ll see how this goes…

Hataraku Maou-sama! episode 03

Oh wow, what a great episode! I have no regrets whatsoever. I’m not even disappointed now that most of my predictions are actually happening. I’m genuinely pleased by how things are going, which is why I’m motived when writing about this show.

[FFF] Hataraku Maou-sama! - 03 [480F888D].mkv_snapshot_06.58_[2013.04.21_00.05.26]The angle was absolutely perfect; Emi had just spent the night at Sadao’s place, the demon lord and her worst enemy. Her head was completely filled with guilt, shame and curiosity. She was curious about why she was attacked and by whom. Then again, who wouldn’t be? She barely escaped and needed her enemy’s help to do it too.

Things were progressing nicely when her attacker actually called her up at work, which means that someone other than Emi, Sadao and Shirou got through that gate, providing the attacker wasn’t there before them. It could turn out to be one of those I-was-here-first-so-you-need-to-leave-situations. God kill me if I’m right. Nothing should be that easy.

[FFF] Hataraku Maou-sama! - 03 [480F888D].mkv_snapshot_11.14_[2013.04.21_00.05.40]But anyway, things took a very interesting turn when Sadao decided to go on a date with Chiho. Things got even more interesting when both Emi and Shirou decided to tail them. Interestingness reach its pique when Emi decided to interfere with their date, telling Chiho that she’s making a big mistake by falling in love with Sadao.

Now, imagine a teenage girl with a huge crush being told that she’s making a big mistake by some strange red-head from another world. It’s no wonder that Chiho decided to open up her mouth to Emi, telling her to mind her own business and whatnot. Not to mention that Sadao, after the place collapsed, got some of his powers back. My god, the next episode will probably be even better than this one.

Hataraku Maou-sama! episode 02

Oh why not, I have seen a lot worse in anime when it comes to predictability. Do I really want to give it up because I already know that Sadao and Emi are bound to end up together? Nah, I will continue to watch and write about this show until it finishes airing. It has impressed me that much, at least.

[Commie] Hataraku Maou-sama! - 02 [9268D145].mkv_snapshot_02.32_[2013.04.14_00.03.09]I think the set-up is brilliant. The two have a lot of history and that makes it very difficult for them to get together. They actually fought with their lives on the line, trying to kill one another. That is why I decided to give this a chance. I simply want to see how those two are going to end up together, when only one episode ago they tried to take each other’s lives. That should prove to be quite interesting…

Also, it’s already begun. Emi has already started to develop certain feelings for Sadao. I’m not saying its love, absolutely not, but I would definitely call it friendship. She is constantly in his debt and he doesn’t even seem to realize that he’s being nice to her. This will slowly turn into a friendship in no-time, so that it may involve into something more later on.

[Commie] Hataraku Maou-sama! - 02 [9268D145].mkv_snapshot_19.26_[2013.04.14_00.04.14]I think it’s going to play out just fine. They both share a common enemy right now, since they were both attacked out in the open by an unknown magic user. This means that they will have to work together to overcome this obstacle if they don’t want to die a painful death. This alone should increase their bond significantly.

Oh, and let’s not forget about Chiho, Sadao’s cute co-worked that seems to rely on him quite a lot. It’s quite obvious that she thinks of him more than just a role model. This would be to perfect set-up for a love triangle. A demon lord that’s going to have to choose between a normal human girl from another world and a human hero from his own world… Now that’s interesting!
