Well, you don’t have to be a so-called “anime-expert” to be able to put the pieces together. There is obviously going to be another season in the future. They didn’t end things at all. It’s more like a “to be continued” ending.
My back is killing me again and this cream I got isn’t working at all. So I am going to keep this short, which is something I was planning anyway. I mean, the only thing worth mentioning was Nanami’s past, which was something that I already did during my last post. There really isn’t much more to say about that to be very honest.
Yes, Tomoe finally admitted that he loves Nanami, so what? Would you really be happy to hear something you already knew? Nanami lived a harsh live for a girl her age and somehow managed to turn out alright. I wouldn’t mind getting to know her a bit more, but the season’s over. We’ll just have to wait until the next season.Read More
Another episode, another chance and yet another mistake on Nanami’s part. That girl will never learn to mind her own business. She refuses to accept the fact that there are things in that world that she shouldn’t meddle with.
But first; we have this demon that used to raise hell alongside Tomoe. He is trying hard to get his own body back and he even got the help of the same demon that sealed away the soul of that old Tengu, even though he was recently defeated by Nanami, a girl that doesn’t even know how to use her powers properly. Still, the guy went back to the netherworld in search of his body and actually found out where they kept it (or rather tried to destroy it). Now all he has to do is ask Tomoe for his help, seeing as he’s probably the only one that can do something about those flames.
That’ll have to wait though. Tomoe is busy trying to learn more and more about Nanami and her past. I certainly can’t blame him; I for one loved those scenes. I know that Nanami’s upbringing was irregular to say the least, but you can clearly tell that she had parents that cared about her, even if her father was a lowly gambler that gambled away all of their money and if her mother was dying from some illness that they haven’t yet told us about (I think). It is simply amazing that she turned out so well even though she had a father like that and had to spend most of her time growing up without her mother by her side. That’s very, very impressive.Read More
I think it is fine that Nanami chooses to help everyone she encounters. It’s very noble of her I suppose, but at one point she will overreach and find herself in a situation where her talismans and chats won’t help her.
Nanami decided to follow in that Tengu, as everyone already expected once again, into the darkness where a lightning beast of sorts lives. She just doesn’t learn that her being there doesn’t always help. Yes, she can be useful, but mostly she’s just in over her head. I mean, her interference nearly cost that Tengu his life and it still isn’t known if he’ll ever fly again even though he took some of those divine peach pills. Not to mention the fact that both of them would’ve been dead if Tomoe didn’t come to her aid at the right moment as usual. I really like Nanami, but I am getting tired of her constant meddling.Read More
And once again Nanami sticks her nose where it just doesn’t belong. She is so nosey that one of these days she’ll get into so much trouble that even Tomoe won’t be able to save her. At this pace it’s only a matter of time.
So Nanami found the Tengu chief and discovered that his soul had been sucked out of his body, meaning that those divine pills of her wouldn’t do a darn thing. All they could do what find out where that soul of his was being kept and try to restore it somehow. I’m not even going to say how surprised I was when I saw Nanami defeat that evil creature with only one chant. I never would’ve imagined that she had that in her. I thought that Tomoe would escape that prison and rush to save Nanami at the very last second as usual. Nice little surprise…
I guess I’m a little disappointed that Tomoe got captured so easily. From that idol Tengu I expected nothing less. I have always seem Tomoe as this strong, badass character that would do anything to prevent Nanami from getting hurt. This episode changed my image of him a little. It was very disappointing to see him lose so easily. I mean, he didn’t even really try to do anything to stop himself from getting captured by that Tengu. He just stood there with a dumb look on his face as it happened.Read More
Okay, I am keeping this post short because of the fact that I pretty much predicted this entire episode ahead of time. I find that very disappointing, especially seeing as Kamisama Kiss has never been all that predictable before.
I’m sure we all knew that Nanami was going to interfere one way or the other. She always sympathizes with others so easily and she always tends to stick her nose where it doesn’t belong. So yeah, not at all surprised when she walked up that mountain and got caught by some big Tengu. It was sad that she ran away after being scared to death like that, but it was her own fault this time.
The worst part is that she got so scared that she was actually trembling, but now she’s going back there again even though she knows full well that women aren’t allowed on that mountain, which makes me wonder how those bird-guys reproduce. Nanami is simply looking for trouble, although she probably expects that Tomoe will come to her rescue this time.Read More
I am late today. I have been driving all over the city because I either forgot something or because I suddenly got called for extra work. At this point I am so tired that I actually feel like I could sleep for a whole week.
I would’ve kept this post short anyway even if I wasn’t short on time. I mean, I honestly don’t really care about those crows. Sure, it was interesting to get to know that playboy wannabe a little bit better, but in the end he still annoys me. I don’t care if he was discriminated against as a child. That doesn’t give him the right to act all high and mighty, especially not now when people need him.
Nevertheless, it’s quite obvious that Nanami is going to interfere. She has this habit of sticking her nose in places where it simply doesn’t belong. This leads to a lot of problems that makes Tomoe’s life just a little bit harder than it has to be. Curiosity is fine, but do not meddle with affairs that you know nothing of. That’s all.Read More
Okay, time is running out for me today so I have to keep this post short. Good thing that there were no major events during this week’s episode. That would’ve made things a lot harder for me, seeing as I would have to pick out what I would say.
Nanami returned safely from that divine gathering and is now back at the shrine. She ended up meeting new people, learning new things and met up with the man that gave her this life in the first place. I think it is safe to say that this whole event was quite a big success. She was given a difficult task and she came through in the end.
Now, she was once again confronted with the fact that humans cannot start a relationship with Youkai. Meaning; Nanami and Tomoe could never be together. Chances are that those gods would interfere somehow. Nanami will have to use all of her tricks in order to get what she wants most; Tomoe’s heart.Read More
Kamisama Kiss is really strange. I have an idea of what they are trying to accomplish and the more I watch it the more I come to understand it. And yet… The more I watch it the more I don’t understand. The element of romance makes things pretty confusing.
So Tomoe got captured because the contract between him and Nanami was temporarily over and done with and Tomoe, instead of accepting Nanami’s help and becoming her familiar again, decided to stay in that prison in order to think about the future. He is so worried about his feelings for Nanami, mainly because he isn’t sure of what he’s feeling. I thought for sure that this would be the last spark that would push Tomoe forward. I thought he would be more open now after what happened. I turned out to be completely in the wrong.
I thought things were going really well. Nanami was more confident than ever. More and more gods started to take notice of her and quite a few of them have come to accept her and her status. She even managed to meet Mikage, the one that bestowed upon her the mark of a god and that gave her a place to call home. Tomoe caught a glimpse of this map and had a huge set-back. He hadn’t thought about Mikage for a while not and now that he’s seen him I fear the worst. The point was to make Tomoe forget. To make him less reliable on Mikage. This may have done more bad than good.Read More
