Kuroko no Basuke 2 episode 17

Man, have a really bad feeling about the ending. We only have a couple of episodes left to go and we are still stuck watching the same match for the last four or five episodes. Does this mean that there’s going to be a third season?

[HorribleSubs] Kuroko's Basketball 2 - 42 [720p].mkv_snapshot_10.52_[2014.02.03_22.28.27]I really do believe that the quality of the episodes have been dropping considerable. This may be rude of me to say, but I’m slowly starting to understand why people threaten the author, ruin Kuroko no Basuke events and basically do everything in their power to stop Kuroko no Basuke from being aired. It really might sound rude of me, but I do understand. The show is really losing that special something. I, too, am getting tired by watching characters suddenly get better thanks to some supernatural ability or super skill. I’m not watching Kuroko no Basuke to see crap like that.

[HorribleSubs] Kuroko's Basketball 2 - 42 [720p].mkv_snapshot_21.35_[2014.02.03_22.29.08]This episode was no different. It was going back and forth, just like the past three or four episodes. Gakuen is constantly a few points ahead. Seirin then manages to score a few times, thereby closing the gap between the two teams, only to see Gakuen score some more. It’s always the same thing over and over again.

Remember how last week’s Kuroko’s “Misdirection Overflow” got all the attention? It allowed Seirin to make a comeback. Now it’s Taiga’s ability to get “in the zone”, just like Daiki. Really? “In the zone”? Suddenly players become a whole lot better and their eyes sparkle with electricity because they are, and I quote; “in the zone”? Yeah… I doubt I’ll write about the third season if it ever gets to that.

Kuroko no Basuke 2 episode 16

Well, Kuroko no Basuke just got ruined for me. The sad part is that I actually saw it coming from a mile away. That’s the worth part. You know it is coming but you hope it doesn’t. Sigh… The next will just suffer in comparison.

[HorribleSubs] Kuroko's Basketball 2 - 41 [720p].mkv_snapshot_04.26_[2014.01.26_22.58.48]I knew that Kuroko would come up with yet another super look-at-me-I’m-unbeatable-now-that-I-fully-awakened-move. That whole misdirection crap was a tough pill to swallow in the first place. It’s ridiculous and more than just farfetched. All of his moves have been beaten, his movement has been blocked and he has nowhere to go. What happens? “Misdirection Overflow” happens. Suddenly all the players are vanishing and everyone suddenly gets better now that Kuroko “activated” his ultimate move, “Misdirection Overflow”.  What is next? “Misdirection Shotgun”? Maybe “Misdirection Super Mega Ultra 100% Success Power Drive”? Bite me.

[HorribleSubs] Kuroko's Basketball 2 - 41 [720p].mkv_snapshot_12.58_[2014.01.26_22.59.08]Noticed how all the players on the opposing team knew the name of Kuroko’s latest move? He never even told them about it. How could they have known the name? Did I miss it? I don’t think so. They just knew. How ridiculous is that!? To hell with inaccuracy, that’s just downright sloppy. I watched that scene three times to make sure, but I can’t see Kuroko or anyone else telling them about it.

Anyway, there are about ten episodes left, right? We are only watching the first Winter Cup match if I’m not mistaken. Seirin still has to beat Atsushi’s team and Seijuro’s team, but the match against Daiki’s team isn’t even over yet. I fear that the ending is going to be rather disappointing. Either that or we will see the rest in a third season.

Kuroko no Basuke 2 episode 15

Great episode! It’s too bad that the episode is still getting defiled with talk about special abilities and evolutions of some kind. Just stop with that supernatural crap. It’s a regular basketball anime. Listening to how characters are evolving or developing ‘super’ techniques is just not cool.

[HorribleSubs] Kuroko's Basketball 2 - 40 [720p].mkv_snapshot_04.28_[2014.01.19_22.45.16]I’m happy that Kuroko was put on a time-out. I always knew that his “skills” would fail him eventually and that he would only drag the team down. It was kind of nice to see Taiga play against Daiki. I dare say that they played equally until Daiki turned up the heat. It’s quite insulting towards Taiga that he held back all this time, thinking that they were actually playing equally. Either Taiga can do more than what we’ve seen so far, or he will develop a special technique like Kuroko, or he will fail and lose the match. The latter is obviously not going to happen since we’re too far into the story.

[HorribleSubs] Kuroko's Basketball 2 - 40 [720p].mkv_snapshot_19.52_[2014.01.19_22.48.05]The bad part about the story is how characters underperform at one point and suddenly play like basketball gods after a few minutes. This episode is a good example of that. Kuroko played like a nightmare at the beginning and suddenly improved during the last few minutes when suddenly everyone was capable of catching his passes.

I just hope that we get to see a little less drama and a little more action. I really like the scenes where Taiga was going up against Daiki. Now that was priceless action! I can hardly wait to see Taiga play against the former captain of the Generation of Miracles. I already know that that’s going to be epic.

Kuroko no Basuke 2 episode 14

I knew it. I knew that this would happen eventually. In fact, I’m glad it happened so early in the Winter Cup. It would be better to get this over with right away than to have to endure it during the last few episodes.

[HorribleSubs] Kuroko's Basketball 2 - 39 [720p].mkv_snapshot_06.31_[2014.01.12_22.26.42]So yeah, all of Kuroko’s abilities were completely destroyed by Daiki. The kicker is that he actually did it with his eyes closed, which, to be very honest, put quite a big smile on my face. I dare say that it’s actually worthwhile to watch Seirin play against the same team twice, again. I was getting tired of seeing Kuroko and his ridiculous, yet cool moves. They have all been defeated and now he’s left with nothing. All that he can do now is rely on his misdirection until he finds a new move that might help him for a few more matches until that one gets defeated, too.

[HorribleSubs] Kuroko's Basketball 2 - 39 [720p].mkv_snapshot_17.27_[2014.01.12_22.26.58]I’m actually a bit anxious to see Taiga’s abilities. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him shout during this episode. He stayed calm even when he stood face to face with Daiki. That’s quite unusual. I don’t buy that “he’s grown mentally” crap. He must be hiding something. He probably has a new move too or something. I need to know!

I don’t think I need to guess what’s about to happen next. Kuroko is out of the game because he just became completely useless and now it’s up to the remaining players to carry the team to victory. There’s no doubt in my mind that Taiga is going to raise hell and dunk a few times after beating Daiki at his own game. That’s just how these types of stories work.

Kuroko no Basuke 2 episode 13

Wow, what the hell happened to the pace? One moment we’re about to watch Seirin start their new training with an experienced trainer, the other we’re watching them play their first match at the Winter Cup. Did I miss an episode or two?

[HorribleSubs] Kuroko's Basketball 2 - 38 [720p].mkv_snapshot_12.19_[2014.01.04_23.43.59]I liked the part where all of the members from the Generation of Miracles were reunited. They seemed to be talking about a promise and their former captain put Taiga in his place. That guy looks like serious trouble. He’s a demon rebel sent straight from hell to devour and destroy. Yeah… I love that character already.

I also like the part where Seirin is starting against Daiki and his team. That didn’t really end well last time and I would really like to see how Daiki and Kuroko will measure up after all this time. And yeah, Kuroko developed yet a new ‘weapon’. I already accepted that a long time ago. To hell with training, to hell with explanations and to hell with reason. Just throw in a fancy move with a nice name and voila!

Kuroko no Basuke 2 episode 12

I’ll be keeping this one short, too. You know, I actually came across another news item about an anime fanatic that threatened to blow up or poison people at a Kuroko no Basuke event or something. He claimed he only did it because he was jealous of the author’s success. That author certainly has a lot of enemies.

[HorribleSubs] Kuroko's Basketball 2 - 37 [480p].mkv_snapshot_14.18_[2013.12.21_21.27.56]Anyway, the first half can be overlooked. A bunch of naked guys talking to each other, playing stupid little games and discussing their next match. The best part about the whole episode was where Riko-chan and Satsuki-chan were both naked and they were arguing with each other about god only knows what. I have no idea and I probably never will. I’m too focussed on other things to read the subtitles.

At least Riko’s father has finally shown up to train Riko’s team in order for them to have a fighting chance during the Winter Cup. Does it matter? Maybe. Is it good? Hell yeah. Throwing that character into the mixture is perfect. He will spice things up without a doubt. I just don’t see the point of sending Taiga to America. I guess we’ll have to wait until next week to find out.

Kuroko no Basuke 2 episode 11

Kuroko no Basuke; predictable and enjoyable. A combination that I never thought possible. The strangest part about this episode is that I remembered reading all those news items about people threatening to ruin all those Kuroko no Basuke events by blowing stuff up and killing people. I find myself more confused than ever when it comes to that.

[HorribleSubs] Kuroko's Basketball 2 - 36 [720p].mkv_snapshot_06.58_[2013.12.14_22.21.39]Anyway, spoiler alert! You could never have guessed this and you never say this coming. This is your final chance to look away. Are you ready? Okay. Here it is; Seirin won. That’s right, after all the foul methods their opponents used, the players they hurt and the morale they shared… Seirin still managed to shove their fists op their opponents’ asses in order to pull themselves to victory. Yeah… A rather dull and predictable episode deserves nothing more than a gay review. The only good scenes were the ones where Kuroko was acting cocky.

[HorribleSubs] Kuroko's Basketball 2 - 36 [720p].mkv_snapshot_18.54_[2013.12.14_22.22.04]The future of Kuroko no Basuke has me a little bit worried. All of the members of the Generation of Miracles are going to the Winter Cup. Does that mean that we’re basically back to square one again? Will have to see Kuroko and Taiga play against all five teams again? The thought of watching Kuroko play against Shintarou and his team for the third time is kind of annoying me.

We’ll see what the future holds. Kuroko and his team won and are off to the Winter Cup, which is really all that matters right now. Kuroko will have plenty of chances to improve and show off his latest technique and his opponents will have plenty of chances to take that away from him. I will be looking forward to that.

Kuroko no Basuke 2 episode 09

Skippy, cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war! I am really bad with episodes like these. I cannot deal with corrupt characters that use underhanded methods to get things done. It makes me want to cheer for the good guys and hope that they murder the bad guys. That’s probably why I wouldn’t be any good as a member of the mafia or yakuza.

[HorribleSubs] Kuroko's Basketball 2 - 34 [720p].mkv_snapshot_09.28_[2013.11.30_22.03.27]I had almost completely forgotten that last week’s episode was one of those flashback episodes. It was confusing as hell to watch, but we learned how Teppei got injured and we learned why Teppei is so careful around that annoying creep. Those guys wait for the referee to look away so that they can pull their opponents by their shirts, step on their shoes before they try to jump or even hit them in the face with an elbow. There’s a limit to how far one can go and to how ignorant a referee can be. Doesn’t he realize that something’s going on when player after player starts to get injured? It’s annoying as hell to watch.

[HorribleSubs] Kuroko's Basketball 2 - 34 [720p].mkv_snapshot_22.14_[2013.11.30_22.04.02]There’s one thing I fail to understand though… Aren’t there any checks? I mean, didn’t it become known that there were always players that ended up getting hurt in every match that team Kirisake, Seirin’s current opponent, played in? Any man would’ve realized that there was something wrong with those statistics.

I’m kind of hopeful about next week’s episode. Teppei is seriously doing everything possible to prevent his teammates from getting hurt by their opponents, and since it’s starting to get to them it’s almost a given that they’re going to try even harder. People in a hurry often make mistakes, so I can only hope that the referee starts paying more attention.
