Disappointment thy name is Natsuyuki Rendezvous. I simply cannot believe what has happened here. I just cannot believe it. We spent over half the episode waiting for Ryousuke to return to his body, only to find out that it happens during the half of the final episode. How disappointing is that? Oh, and there’s way more than that.
I was hyped about this anime at first. It started out great. It had lots of great romantic scenes, a good story and interesting characters that didn’t annoy. It soon changed though. Atsushi remained in control of Ryousuke’s body until the very last minute. I’m just happy he left before he actually killed Rokka-chan, which was something he actually considered doing.
The ending was so insulting. I just cannot believe what I saw. It’s nice to see that Rokka and Ryousuke ended up together, gotten old and had lots of children, but come on… Ryousuke died at a good age, yet Atsushi, being as young as ever, stayed behind as a ghost to watch their children and grandchildren grow up. How messed up is that? I don’t even want to write about this anymore. It was that disappointing.Read More
I think it’s safe to say that this was by far the worst episode yet. It is getting harder and harder to watch. The romance is pretty much gone. It’s turned into this diabolical game between Atsushi and Ryousuke. I knew right from the start that Atsushi was going to ruin everyone’s lives, and that he didn’t belong in the ‘real’ world as a ghost, but as a damned one in hell.
I know, that’s some pretty harsh stuff I’m putting out there, but who cares? The ratings alone prove that people are rapidly losing interesting in Natsuyuki Rendezvous. It all went downhill when Atsushi took control of Ryousuke’s body. I have an idea why; the romance started fading when Atsushi joined the big picture. It’s all me-me-me with that guy. I think that’s when the show started focussing more on that whole Atsushi taking over thing than on the romance.
Anyway, Ryousuke knows what’s going on by now. He realized that Atsushi intends to take over his body permanently, leaving him to rot away in that ridiculous dream world. That means that the roles have switched. Ryousuke is now the ghost and Atsushi the evil prince on the black horse.
The only thing that’s keeping me going right now is Rokka. She finally stopped sobbing and feeling sorry for herself. She finally started asking questions. She already asked a question that Atsushi can’t possibly answer. That’s the only thing that keeps me going now; the thought of Rokka finding out how truly pathetic her ex-husband is, and how he will rot in hell for all the things he has done to both her and Ryousuke. Now, I’m an atheïst myself, but the thought of that character burning in hell for all eternity feels pretty nice. It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.Read More
Holy hell! This week’s episode pissed me off to no end. I cannot believe it ended up like this. No wonder the show’s ratings have been declining. It just doesn’t make any sense. Why take things this far? It’s been weeks since we’ve seen any actual romance.
I liked the fact that Atsushi realized he’s a bastard and that he was being selfish beyond belief. May he burn in hell for that soon, but what about the present? Rokka has found out about that whole Atsushi taking over Ryousuke’s body thing. Now what? Is Rokka going to stay like this? Is she willing to sacrifice Ryousuke in order to give Atsushi a second chance in life with the help of Ryousuke’s body?
I don’t know what to think of this anymore. It used to be so romantic, so beautifully complicated. Yeah, used to be. The past few weeks have been nothing more than an anti-climax. Are we, the viewers, supposed to be satisfied when watching this? I am not, and I don’t think a lot of other viewers are. Frankly, I’m sick and tired of seeing Atsushi. Just send that character to hell already.
You know what frightens me a little? The anime started out magnificently. It had loads of romance, drama and the story sucked you in right away. The ratings were through the roof too. What about now? It has been weeks since Atsushi took over Ryousuke’s body, and all we’ve had since then were ridiculously dull scenes. The only romantic scenes were the ones where Rokka still thought that she was going out with Ryousuke.
Anyway, I’m just a bit nervous about the ending. There are only two episodes left, yet there’s no sign of Ryousuke returning any time soon. Is the anime really going to end with Atsushi leaving at the last minute? Is it going to end with Ryousuke stuck in that world and Atsushi by Rokka’s side? I can’t accept any of that. It started out great, at least give it a fitting end. That’s all I want at this point.Read More
For the love of… I’m seriously nearing my limit here. What is going on with this show? It used to be so great. This whole Atsushi ordeal is taking its toll on the viewers. I can’t even begin to count the amount of negative feedback I’ve read so far. A lot of people, like me, despise Atsushi for all the things he’s done so far.
Let’s focus on that for a bit. Atsushi took things to a whole new level. It wasn’t enough to destroy Ryousuke’s image, take away his first time with Rokka and mess with his property. He took it to a level where he stole back his own property from Rokka, making her believe that Ryousuke is a mere thief. He also withdrew the savings he left to Rokka and left town. Things have gotten so much worse, yet Ryousuke is still frolicking around in that dream world with a fairy version of Rokka. How much more will Atsushi take from him before he’s satisfied? I thought he did these things to make Rokka move on, but that’s definitely not it. He’s just being pathetically selfish.
Watching this has become harder than ever. Rokka is dead-set on finding out what’s going on with Ryousuke. I don’t think that she’s after her property. She was/is genuinely in love with Ryousuke, so perhaps she went after him to convince him to come back? It’s all just so complicated right now. Still, I caught a glimpse of what might be Ryousuke’s return. I can only hope that I’m right and that it happens during next week’s episode. I can’t bear to watch another episode where Atsushi keeps messing things up. It’s just too much.
Also, and this may just be me, but I feel as though the romance is gone. Rokka is confused by all these recent events, Atsushi is just as confused, thereby creating a huge gap between Ryousuke and Rokka, and Ryousuke is still in that wonderland without a clue on how to return to his own body. It doesn’t look like he’s trying hard either. It’s a shame, that’s all. Like I said; I’m hoping that these things will be resolved during next week’s episode.Read More
Okay, I’m getting a little bit fed up with Atsushi. The relationship with Rokka-chan rose to a whole new level after she confessed her love for Ryousuke. That was great! Tough it would’ve been greater if Ryousuke was actually there to hear it, instead of being in that messed up wonderland with a Rokka replica.
Like I made obvious above, I’m getting a bit fed up with that guy. He is absolutely pathetic. He even stole Ryousuke’s first time with Rokka. I’m not saying they had sex or anything, but they did sleep naked together, which normally means only one thing; sex! He didn’t even make her any breakfast or anything like that. He just left a note and headed out to the flower shop.
Rokka was told to wait until he called her, which he did at the very last minute. I was seriously mad. This story just sucks you in. I can only hope that Atsushi gets so fed up with being inside of his body that he just leaves. Highly unlike at this point, but a guy’s got to have hope, right?
I’m afraid that Rokka has started to notice certain similarities between Ryousuke and Atsushi. She is currently still denying it, but for how long? It’s only a matter of time before she accepts the fact that Atsushi is currently in possession of Ryousuke’s body, and that’s when things get out of control. Seriously, I don’t like the thought of that.
I will end this post by saying that I still think that this anime is this summer’s best, and that I love every bit of it. However, I still feel that Atsushi has got to go. That character is driving me crazy. I suppose some people feel bad for him, but I sure don’t. He has been abusing someone else’s body, merely so that he can hang on to something he lost a long time ago. I think that’s just pathetic.Read More
And the confusion continues… How painful. I did like the twist later in the episode though, that was absolutely great. It makes me crazy about having to wait a week for the next episode. I solemnly swear that I shall not read the manga. I can’t. It would ruin my entire experience as well as the (poor?) quality of my posts.
Atsushi is still inside of Ryousuke’s body, we all know that, but for how much longer? He has been enjoying himself with Rokka. Sure, there were times where he wished he was dead (so to speak, seeing as he’s already dead), but he got passed that. Hell, it almost seemed as though he was seriously trying to bring Ryousuke and Rokka-chan together. Yeah, it almost looked like it.
Rokka wanted more and more physical contact with whom she thought was Ryousuke, and Atsushi was getting really annoyed by that. Or should I say jealous? I don’t know anymore. One thing’s for sure; Atsushi was getting fed up with Rokka’s tendency to hide behind his death. She doesn’t want to get too physical, only because she keeps thinking about Atsushi, whom appears to have been her first and only crush.
This makes things incredibly complicated. Ryousuke is stuck inside some kind of dream, Atsushi is after god only knows what and Rokka-chan is finally starting to admit what she really wants now. Things are about to get really ugly if Atsushi doesn’t give back Ryousuke’s body soon, as Rokka-chan is bound to find out sooner or later when she sees certain similarities between him and her deceased husband.
Now, the one thing I really enjoyed was the ending where Rokka said that she loved Ryousuke too. She finally said it! She has been hiding it for so long, and the only one to hear that glorious confession was Atsushi. That kind of pisses me off. Ryousuke has been working very hard on that relationship. Why not give the guy a break already? It’s a bit complicated if you ask me.Read More
Oh come on. I feared that something like this would happen. I knew that things would take a turn for the worse when Ryuusuke, in drunken mood, surrendered his body to Atsushi. I was so disappointed that I almost wanted to cry. Fortunately, I suddenly remembered having a penis, so I am not allowed to cry.
I want to start this by saying that I absolutely despite characters like Atsushi. He is selfish and inconsiderate. Rokka was finally continuing with her life, yet he, her deceased husband, keeps getting in the way of her happiness. He even took control of Ryuusuke’s body in order to be with her. It’s starting to look like a “if I can’t have her then nobody can” situation. It’s really sad. Atsushi is desperately clinging on to Rokka, yet he doesn’t want her to be happy with anyone else but him. She will be alone for the rest of her life if he doesn’t just back off.
It got to a point where Atsushi, being the pathetic guy that he is, started to sabotage Ryuusuke’s reputation and image. He cut his hair, bought a pair of ridiculous glasses and started messing up the relationship he had established with Rokka-chan. All of it is going down the drain, and that will continue for as long as Atsushi remains in control of Ryuusuke’s body.
Meanwhile Ryuusuke was in a dream land with a miniature, younger version of Rokka. He too realized that Atsushi took control, yet he remains stuck there. It’s really too bad, because things were going in the right direction with Rokka. That just goes to show that alcohol is never a solution to any problem.Read More
Why? Why did this happen? The relationship between Rokka and Ryuusuke was going so well. Now it seems as though things aren’t going anywhere, ever. Rokka-chan is a lovely girl, really, but she’s still living in the pass, which makes moving forward a lot harder for her. Poor girl…
So Ryuusuke took Rokka to that theme park, the same theme park that she visited with Atsushi when he was still alive. The opportunity was golden. It was a beautiful day, the park wasn’t too crowded and there were no jealous ghosts whatsoever. So yeah, Ryuusuke had the perfect opportunity. However, he screwed up. He was too busy thinking about these stupid traditions, not to mention the fact that he actually asked Rokka for sex. I was astonished. Out of nowhere he looked her in the eyes and asked her if she wanted to have sex with him. The guy has lost it.
It came as no surprise to me that nothing happened. They held hands like little teenagers as they walked all over the place. Absolutely no progress, not even when they went home again. The only thing that happened, which I wouldn’t be able to call positive, was when Ryuusuke returned to Rokka’s shop drunk, where he actually agreed to let Atsushi take over his body.
I’m not sure I want to watch the next episode. Atsushi is a very jealous and selfish person. He doesn’t want Rokka to be with anyone else but him, which is probably why he’s going to stay inside Ryuusuke’s body in order to be with Rokka-chan. I wouldn’t be surprised at all. God, I am really nervous. It’s taking a lot of willpower to leave the manga alone at this point.Read More
