This sucks. I can’t believe it’s already over. They released Overlord a lot later than usual, but its fine. I stayed up all night waiting for it so that I could watch it as soon as it became available. Too bad that I only had a few hours of sleep and were dead tired after work, but oh well…
I loved Overlord. I truly did. There was no nonsense or pointlessness to speak of. I loved it all. I also believe that there should definitely be at least one more season to finish things properly. It was a great first season, but I am pretty sure they can squeeze out at least another season in the (near) future. I’m pretty sure that a lot of anime fans have come to enjoy Overlord and would agree with me when I say that Overlord definitely deserves another season. We can’t let them end things with that powerful mystery warrior still on the loose.
It came as no surprise to anyone that Momonga won. Shalltear, no matter how strong, was just another NPC that was created by one of Momonga’s old friends. It stands to reason that he would know every single thing about her. It just goes to show that information really is the same as power. Well done, supreme leader!
But hey, the thought of there being someone out there that can actually take control of Momonga’s guardians… Shocking. I’m guessing it was one of those Adamantine class (or whatever they call it) adventurers that managed to take control of Shalltear, but we still don’t know if a World Class Item was really involved. It could’ve been a unique skill for all we know. Man… I really want to know more… Hurry up with a new season!Read More
There is no way in hell that next week’s episode is the last we’ll see of Overlord. This show is just too awesome to end now. Besides, Momonga has yet to conquer that world. He hasn’t even met those so-called heroes yet. The story definitely can’t end here.
It’s strange, but there really is very little to say about this episode. Momonga decided to fight against Shalltear, whom is being controlled by someone else, by himself. This is all fine, but Shalltear is probably the last opponent that he should be facing, seeing as she kind of counters magic casters by making sure they deplete their MP (usually means Mana Points or Magic Points), making them very vulnerable.
She may be up against a magic caster, but it’s Momonga we’re talking about. That guy is so overpowering, which is what I love most about this show, that there’s no way he’ll lose. He has it all planned out. Besides, he still hasn’t used those extremely rare items that he retrieved from his stronghold, right? Next week’s episode will be a lot of fun to watch.Read More
What a horrible day. I had a flat tire on my way home, burned my food when the phone rang and because I had to clean up all the mess I had very little time to watch all of today’s anime episodes and to write a big Overlord post. I can’t wait to go to bed to put this day behind me.
My review might sound a little negative this time, but I assure you that it’s because of my mood and not because of the show. Watching Overlord has been nothing but a delight so far. I kind of just want to see some full-on action, which is something that I said last week as well I believe, and it would seem like my wish is about to be granted once again.
The thought of watching Momonga fight against Shalltear next week is unbearable. I want to see it right now. Momonga should be able to defeat Shalltear without using all of his power. He is, after all, the supreme ruler and Shallter is just one of his NPC’s. I just can’t wait to see what’ll happen next week and I also don’t mind finding out how Shallter ended up like that and by whom.Read More
Well, it was not as awesome as last week’s episode, but it was still pretty darn exciting. I’m just glad that Shalltear hasn’t really betrayed the supreme leader. I mean, Momonga is all-powerful and has no equal. That’s how it should be.
Shalltear Bloodfallen was just doing what she was ordered to do by her master. She was doing it to the best of her abilities when she encountered an unexpected and rather unpredictable enemy that may or may not have her under his/her control. All I know is that I saw Shalltear charge in like some kind of undead monster from hell she encountered at least one opponent that could (temporarily) stop her, which is kind of strange seeing as she clearly managed to kill their magic caster by piercing her/his chest with her hand/claw. It could be because that magic caster finished chanting that spell before getting killed.
Anyway, Momonga is aware of the situation and has accounted for the possibility that Shalltear Bloodfallen may have come under the control of someone else. This was possible in his game so it could be possible in that world. I have never seen him worried so this should be quite promising. Maybe he’ll get serious now.
There are so many things going through my mind right now. Shalltear might not nearly be as strong as Momonga, but she, unlike the residents of that world, may actually get Momonga to start fighting seriously if she has fallen under someone’s spell. Man… I can only hope that there’s going to be a second season of this in the future. Thirteen episodes of Overlord just isn’t enough for me.Read More
Oh my… What an amazing episode! Normally I’d say something about how they spent an entire episode on just two little fights. Trust me; that is the last thing that I would ever say at this point. I watched this episode yesterday and I watched it again today. It was that great.
Okay, I’ll get straight to Nabe’s fight. I may hate that old man more than that woman. I’m not sure. He’s so cocky and he thinks that he knows everything about magic and whatnot. This time he was up against a far superior opponent and the look he had on his face as Nabe obliterated his two beloved dragons was absolutely priceless. At that point I wouldn’t have minded if this fight dragged on for another episode. I could definitely watch more of that. Besides, Nabe in that battle maid outfit is very nice on the eyes. She looks very cute in it.
It’s the same with Momonga. He didn’t even try. That woman attacked him over and over and she ended up getting grabbed by him. Death by bear-hug. That is messed up. Watching her squirm as she realized that she picked a fight with the wrong guy was great. She squealed and struggled right up to the end where Momonga broke her in half.
I am so glad that I picked Overlord to write about. Now more than ever. We don’t get dull moments. Things are just going to get hectic again now that Shalltear supposedly rebelled against her leader. I find that very doubtful. It’s probably something silly again. She must’ve attacked someone or hauled ass for some reason. I’m sure there’s a good reason for this.Read More
This episode was incredibly epic! I am so glad that I chose to believe in Overlord. It hasn’t disappointed me yet. Waiting for the next episode will be a real challenge. It’s not like I can go read the manga; the anime is way ahead of the translated edition of the Overlord manga.
So Momonga’s allies were slaughtered like pigs by that insane woman. I liked that little twist about that little boy actually turning out to be a girl. It’s so simple and unexpected; I like it. But I think I can make one thing clear here; they weren’t friends. Momonga feels no sadness about their deaths. It surprised me a little to hear him say that he’s mad because his work went wasted. He wanted to use them as tools to spread his name throughout the city. I don’t know if I should find that awesome or unnecessarily evil, but I like where this is going.
I also kind of hope that Nabe will deal with that annoying geezer fast and show up with his head just as Momonga is about to fight that woman. I would really like to see the look on her face as she realizes that she’s not up against your average adventurers. They did a great job at making the viewers hate her guts. I just want to see her sweat just before she gets defeated. The thought of her realizing that she has no chance of victory after all that she has said and done is simply orgasmic. I really, really hope that I won’t be let down next week.Read More
Another pretty good episode. I just hate that we still haven’t got a clear picture of Momonga’s enemy. Yes, there are a few devious characters walking about, but they strike me as small fries. We still just know too little even though we’re halfway.
The first half was kind of strange. Momonga was still continuing his quest in order to make money. He decided to have his reputation of slaying the “forest king” spread throughout the land so that he can get better paying quests. He wants to make a name for himself and I’m not quite sure why yet. Yes, the guy needs local currency, but I doubt that that’s really all there is to it. If he really needed money and nothing else then he would’ve just taken some from others, seeing as there’s nobody there strong enough to defeat him or his underlings.
I’ll admit that I was a little bit disappointed when I saw that the “forest king” was nothing more than a giant hamster that was created by one of Momonga’s old friends. I may be more disappointed with myself than with the show, seeing as I couldn’t stop laughing at something as stupid as that. That hamster looked really funny.
But that’s not what it’s all about now. It’s about that psychotic girl and her attempt to abduct Momonga’s employer. He can use any magical item so that makes him perfect for her plan. We’re already seven weeks into the show. It’s about time we got to see some real action. Maybe we’ll get to see Momonga sweat a little.Read More
This was an extremely uneventful episode. I expected Momonga to have walked into a trap by now, but I keep that’s either still coming or they are going to do it differently. Either way; that boy knows about that potion and that’s why he hired him in the first place; to find out more about it.
I have no intention of writing a lengthy post this week on the count of how uneventful this episode truly was. I mean, Momonga just slashed a few monsters apart and showed those guys that he is the real deal, even if he’s only a “copper plate” at the moment. Their world is all about image and power. The rest is optional.
Now, I don’t mind if the people in that city were killed and turned into zombies. I doubt that guy will obtain immortality. All I want know is to see Momonga fight a very strong opponent. He is holding back by wearing that armour, restricting his abilities greatly. There aren’t many episodes left so I guess I’m starting to get a little nervous.Read More
