First thing’s first; merry Christmas everyone. I hope you’re all healthy and will have a joyous Christmas and a happy and safe new year’s eve. And yes, I am still regretting picking Shomin Sample at this point.
It has become painfully predictable. Yes, there are still some funny and interesting scenes (like when the protagonist was in a pinch and his face looked like he was getting shot out of a canon) but that is all there is to it. The story has become so vague that it’s hard to follow. It’s almost as though the episodes are being aired in the wrong order.
But hey, the protagonist went over there, as everyone already knew he would, and pretty much proposed to marry that girl instead. This might lead to an interesting ending… Oh that’s right. It won’t. This episode was the ending, which makes things even weirder. Nothing has been concluded. It ended just like it started; with a lot of question marks. What a disappointing show.Read More
I never thought I’d say this about Shomin Sample ever again, but this episode was actually pretty promising. Shomin Sample had gotten so dull lately that I had almost given up on it. I certainly didn’t expect this episode.
We all know that they are basically creating a strange harem here. All the girls are pretty might fighting over the protagonist and he, being a complete idiot, doesn’t realize any of it (how cliché). That’s all fine. This has been going on for weeks and not a lot has change since. They all just hang around and try to learn more about the common world.
Now Reiko’s mother shows up with her brother to take her back home to help her get married off to another wealthy family. This might be the kick in the balls that’s necessary to make things interesting again. What will our protagonist do? Oh who am I kidding? We all know they’re all going after her in order to try and convince Reiko’s mother to let her daughter make her own life’s choices. And they will obviously succeed…Read More
Shomin Sample has really let me down. I thought that the story, although a little ridiculous, was pretty interesting and showed a lot of promise, but now I feel as though I wouldn’t mind if it ended next week. That’s when you know you’ve lost interest.
The story is just too weak. They are mixing it all up and they never actually finish any of the things they start. I mean, when exactly are we going to learn more about that head maid? I don’t mind being given a toughrough look of her panties. In fact, I, as a pervert, actually appreciate it. But I do want some answers at some point.
Let us be honest; was it really needed to spend almost twenty minutes on the girls’ attempt to make the protagonist stay, even though he wasn’t even leaving to begin with? I feel as though that could’ve been wrapped up within five minutes to make time for more interesting and perhaps more important things. Or at least make it interesting by stopping with all that gay stuff and make the girls use their sexappeal or something.Read More
Fantastic episode! Truly a great episode that all other future episodes need to use an example. It was so freakishly amusing that I didn’t even question the ridiculousness of the story for even a second. Not even when a small army of maids appeared out of nowhere.
The episode started out normally (for as normally as a Shomin Sample episode can possibly start). The girls wanted to know about the commoners and their fixation with maids. Little did they know that the image the commoners have of maids is completely different from actual maids. It’s like a fantasy where the commoner’s maid tries her best to find that balance between cute and weird. I’ll admittedly say that I have no idea what the point of that was. I mean, yeah, the girls were doing it because they wanted to get closer to that idiot, but the general idea was just weird.
Imagine my surprise when suddenly the spotlight shined on Hakua. I don’t think we’ve ever really had an episode with her in the spotlight. At least not since the episode where we first met her. That’s why I absolutely loved this episode. The funniest, cutest and most interesting character of this show got some major screen time this week.
We learned a little about what Hakua does with her time and we learned that she does not really like the head maid. I think it’s about time we learn more about that maid and why she’s so interested in that idiot protagonist. I’ll endure any amount of ridicule as long as I get my weekly dose of Hakua.Read More
I am so confused right now. Last week they made quite a big deal out of that maid kissing the protagonist and now they haven’t even focussed on that for even a second. We know nothing about her or her plans.
Last week’s episode left us with a scene of that maid kissing him. This week we just dove straight into fortune telling and how that could help the girls get the man of their dreams (aka our protagonist). This, of course, led to a lot of ridiculous rivalry amongst the girls with the protagonist in the middle. Still, at least we got to see samurai-chan in those clothes again.
I’m satisfied because Hakua was in this week’s episode. At the same time I’m disappointed because we still don’t know a damn thing about that maid or why she insists on being his maid. They have been giving slight hints and quite a few obvious scenes here and there, but they still wish to make things unnecessarily confusing by not continuing it but to focus on something else entirely.Read More
I’ll just say it once and for all; this show really loses its magic when Hakua isn’t involved. They made this protagonist and created half a dozen heroines that’ll end up fighting over him and they spend too little time on the greatest one.
I thought that something interesting was about to happen when Karen got put in the spotlight. Kimito complimented the living hell out of Karen and made her wear a very sexy outfit, after which she ended up running away embarrassed and flattered. That gave me false hope once again. I knew that nothing’s ever going to happen.
I have to accept that the magic of Shomin Sample drops whenever Hakua doesn’t get enough screen-time. Aika has pretty much fulfilled her mission (so to speak) and that’s that. I honestly can’t see her a potential girlfriend even though she did get closest to him so far by performing CPR. My money’s still on Hakua or Karen as a last resort. His maid is a no-go (until she actually kissed him).Read More
I just got home and I didn’t even have time to schedule today’s post. Better late than never, I guess. I’ve read a lot of dissatisfied posts about this episode. Why? Because it reminded you that it’s about a weird story about high-class girls and a single commoner that teaches them about the common world? Come on…
You know a story has gone passed that thin rational line when you see that some school for rich kids has the ability to recreate a part of a city with fast food chains and arcades and whatnot just so that those girls can learn about the common world. My school, back in the day, didn’t even have the funds for proper books. We had to use second-hand ones.
Anyway, I’m satisfied with this episode. That pushy red-head finally got herself some friends and is well on her way to become one of the popular students. I guess things are finally starting to unfold. All that’s left is for our protagonist to start benefitting from this deal instead of his family. Maybe a kiss or an accidental touch or something?Read More
Now this episode was absolutely delightful. It’s sad that I have to write this on my laptop from my bed as I sip tea with honey like an eighty year old man to stop my throat from killing me. Our bodies are pathetically fragile.
So they decided to dedicate most of this week’s episode to that adorable loli and her strange habits. I loved it. The girls noticed that she only really opens up to the protagonist and that she tries her best to hog all of his attention for herself. Needless to say that she has an enormous crush on him ever since he fed her those noodles.
Yeah, watching her and her strange quirks was an absolutely delight. But hey, the final scene really was the cherry on top of the whipped cream. That hilarious scene where those girls had an unintentional moment of lesbianism was one to remember. Catching those two in that position gives a whole lot of hilarious new options for the story. I hope they continue this next week.Read More
