Witch Craft Works episode 04

Ah, here we go. I’m starting to see a very familiar pattern here. I wish I could be happy about that, I really do, but I think that uniqueness is what separates With Craft Works from all other anime. Now it turns out that I may have been wrong to think that.

[Watakushi-Nameless] Witch Craft Works - 04 [720p][8D1F5051].mkv_snapshot_08.48_[2014.01.29_22.17.25]I have seen plenty of series about special characters that were heavily protected because of their value. Some had hidden powers, some served as sacrifices and others were very knowledgeable. None of them could defend themselves against powerful enemies and were protected (unknowingly) by other characters. Do you know what these stories usually have in common? Well, there are multiple similarities, but the one thing that these stories have in coming the most is that the character in question is always protected by family or childhood friends. It turns out that With Craft Works in no exception.

[Watakushi-Nameless] Witch Craft Works - 04 [720p][8D1F5051].mkv_snapshot_21.48_[2014.01.29_22.17.59]We finally met Kasumi-chan, a crafting witch and Honoka’s cute sister. The funny thing about Kasumi-chan is that she looks nothing like her brother. Not even a little bit. It’s only a matter of time before we meet the rest of the Takamiya family. Where there’s one there’s more, right? Their mother must be a witch, too.

The one thing that really cheered me up is the idea of Ayaka-chan living together with Honoka. This just means that the story is going to get a whole lot funnier and chances for romance just increased. Yeah, Kasumi will do everything in her power to prevent Ayaka from getting too close, probably, but I’m sure the almighty Ayaka will find a way. I can’t wait to see the next episode!

Witch Craft Works episode 03

Ha! New episodes are coming out and the ratings for Witch Craft Works are rising! I guess people are finally starting to appreciate the show. I just wish they could shove in a little bit of romance into it. I think that would make things a lot better. A few subtle panty flashes wouldn’t go amiss either.

[Watakushi-Nameless] Witch Craft Works - 03 [720p][7C472799].mkv_snapshot_10.40_[2014.01.22_22.12.31]

So Honoka has become Ayaka’s pupil. She has her work cut out for her, poor girl. The guy can’t even deal with the evil stares that he gets from his fellow classmates. How in the hell is he supposed to deal with enemy witches that have been practicing magic for many years when he doesn’t even know a single spell?

The fact that both he and Ayaka got trapped by a witch and her strange-looking accomplice proves that Honoka is completely useless right now. Still, it was nice to know how Ayaka seems so strong. It is nice to know that she can only be harmed through Honoka, but only if the two are close together. If Honoka is far away then it’ll have no effect. Weak spot found!

[Watakushi-Nameless] Witch Craft Works - 03 [720p][7C472799].mkv_snapshot_20.19_[2014.01.22_22.12.51]Now that Honoka is officially Ayaka’s weakness, what can be expect from him now that he has that strange candy? Will he take it and suddenly gain immense power? Will he take it and die? What the hell is that “white stuff” they keep talking about? I really hope it isn’t his semen. Looking at that might make me want to gouge my eyes out.

Oh well, Ayaka seems fully aware that she has a weakness and Honoka is slowly starting to pick up magic. Beaten like a little girl yesterday, flying a magic broom today and perhaps whoop some witch ass tomorrow. Who knows? My mind is completely focussed on both Ayaka and that mysterious candy. I need to know!

Witch Craft Works episode 02

Here I go again, always picking one of the underdog shows to write about. I can’t believe that Witch Craft Works is so underrated when it’s incredibly amusing? I can’t even look away even if wanted to. Unfortunately, I must keep this post a short as possible.

[Watakushi-Nameless] Witch Craft Works - 02 [720p][9A91BBFA].mkv_snapshot_04.52_[2014.01.15_22.24.34]It came as no surprise that those witches decided to come after Honoka. However, I never would’ve thought that Ayaka-chan would’ve taken the initiative by ambushing them first. It’s quite promising that she can take care of all those witches by herself. I’m not sure if that’s just Ayaka or if all crafting witches are stronger than those tower witches. I sure want to know more about that.

Anyway, I guess Honoka got tired of being the helpless victim, because he actually asked Ayaka for help by teaching him magic. It would be rather nice if the guy knew how to defend himself instead of having to rely on his female classmate (or her mother, the school principal). I’m just curious about how this whole relationship of theirs is going to unfold. Not to mention what kind of magic he’s about to learn…

Witch Craft Works

W.. Wh…. Whaaaat!? How did I miss this!? I actually read up on With Craft Works last month and I was not impressed at all. It came across as a childish, predictable and girly show. I never would have thought that I would enjoy it as much as I did. Hell, I’m already thinking about writing about it.

Witch Craft WorksGreat artwork! I absolutely love Ayaka. Her emotionless face and lovable personality match perfectly. You can never tell what she’s thinking or what she wants, I love it! Everything is incredibly detailed and the characters all look great! The author really did it big with this one!

Love the story! I wanted to say that it’s been done a lot, but it only just started. So what if one character is following the other around in order to protect him? This could lead to many great things, especially since pretty much all the characters hate character B for being close to character A. Chaos will undoubtedly follow.

I do recommend this, I really do. I can already tell that this is going to be another one of those underrated shows that people quickly overlook. Still, I must ask you to give Witch Craft Works a fair shot. I expected a disaster and stumbled upon twenty minutes of joy. How could I not recommend this after all of that? Try it.

Plot Summary: Takamiya Honoka is a regular student whose only problem seems to be that he sits next to Kagari Ayaka, the school’s #1 beauty. They have never spoken to each other before and any small interaction between them immediately results in her fanclub beating him. Yet when a falling part of the school’s building is about to send him to the afterlife, it’s Kagari that comes to his rescue. Only… she’s dressed as a witch, carrying him in her arms and floating on a broom?! Kagari tells him it is her mission to protect him and that now she can finally protect him openly rather than undercover.
