Yowamushi Pedal episode 30

Okay, this is basically it, isn’t it? There are still about eight episodes left if I’m not mistaken. It’s becoming clear that they are going to end this soon. We might even end up with an episode of two that doesn’t involve their race.

[HorribleSubs] Yowamushi Pedal - 30 [720p].mkv_snapshot_05.29_[2014.05.06_23.44.22]Unfortunately, I have not a lot that I want to say about this episode. It was kind of expected. Yes, Yowamushi Pedal is running out of episodes to air, but still they make time to air a few flashback scenes and scene that basically make me want to rip my eyes out. Honestly, I couldn’t care less for some of the characters.

You know things are coming to an end now that it’s finally Shunsuke’s time to show. He is to lead Shingo, the team captain, until it’s time to race until the finish. Shoukichi, Jin, Sakamichi and Yuusuke all had their chances to shiny. Time for the remaining two characters. I just hope that Akira gets defeated quickly. I can’t stand that creepy character.

Yowamushi Pedal episode 29

A pretty good episode. I thought that Yuusuke would win since Jinpachi seemed like such a douchebag, and we all know that douchebags never win. He turned out to be a pretty fanatic character with a lot of passion.

[HorribleSubs] Yowamushi Pedal - 29 [720p].mkv_snapshot_17.20_[2014.04.29_22.57.39]I honestly should’ve seen it coming. Sohoku won the springing award a few episodes ago, so it’s only natural if Hakone won the climbing award. They’ve both won something. Now all that’s left is for either one of them to win the race altogether, and we all know which team is going to win… Sohoku will definitely win this thing.

There’s really only one thing left that I want to point out. The race between Sakamichi and Sangaku should be starting any time soon now. Yuusuke can now take over for Sakamichi again. It’s only a matter of time before those two will do their thing, and before Shingo and Juichi race against that creepy snake guy. Yeah… It’s just a matter of time.

Yowamushi Pedal episode 28

Another great episode that raised even more questions. The plot thickens en more and more mysteries keep popping up all over the place. Oh wait, I’m supposed to review this week’s Yowamushi Pedal today, not Black Bullet. In that case: meh.

[HorribleSubs] Yowamushi Pedal - 28 [720p].mkv_snapshot_09.01_[2014.04.22_23.12.27]So Sakamichi, the anime world’s greatest geek, raced his ass off to catch up again. I’m glad that they didn’t waste more than one episode on something so predictable that it makes me want to cry. The one thing that I actually liked was to see him pass that group that was blocking his way. Not to mention his brief encounter with that insane character and his freaky body. I could’ve done very well without that particular scene. In fact, I think I could’ve done without this entire episode. It’s all about praising Sakamichi and his incredible cadence and perseverance.

[HorribleSubs] Yowamushi Pedal - 28 [720p].mkv_snapshot_21.20_[2014.04.22_23.12.53]The sighing won’t stop on my end… I’m just so disappointed in Yowamushi Pedal. I can already see the ending. Being able to see that is one thing, but also being able to guess what’s about to happen correctly is just the worst. It really casts a shadow of negativity on my reviews even though I still watching the episodes as they become available.

Yuusuke finally headed off in order to become king of the mountain. Yeah, he’ll win, don’t worry. They focussed so much on his past and showed us how much he suffered that it’s almost guaranteed that he’ll win. The fact that his opponent, a climber from Hakone, is such a cocky douchebag confirms that. Cocky douchebags rarely win in anime. That’s just how it is.

Yowamushi Pedal episode 27

I’ll be starting this post off by pointing out that I am now completely sure that the remaining episodes will focus entirely on the Inter High race. Perhaps they will save one episode for celebration or something, but this is it. This is what it’s all about it.

[HorribleSubs] Yowamushi Pedal - 27 [720p].mkv_snapshot_06.33_[2014.04.15_23.43.47]So everyone is doing their best despite the fact that their second climber, Sakamichi, had a little accident and was now officially last. The lead climber from Hakone really, really wanted to race against Yuusuke. He knows all about his style and they’ve raced each other before. You could tell that Yuusuku was eager to go and that it was hard for him to put his team before his own desire to race that annoying, self-obsessed prick. So what if it’s their last year in high school? It’s not going to be their last year on a racing bike. There will be other opportunities in the unforeseeable future.

[HorribleSubs] Yowamushi Pedal - 27 [720p].mkv_snapshot_21.13_[2014.04.15_23.44.15]I could very well say that this is going to happen and that that’s going to happen, but I’m sure everyone can tell what’s going to happen. Yuusuke will be the key racer during their climb. He is to keep them riding at a steady and fast pace until it is time for Shingo and Shunsuke to ride like hell. I’m sure that that’s all there is to it right now.

Oh, let’s not forget that Sakamichi is going to catch up. I’m guessing it’s going to take about two episodes, but even I wouldn’t be surprised if he appeared again during the next episode. Let’s face it; that little runt is known for catching up to people. They focussed so much on that in the past that the story has become pretty predictable.

Yowamushi Pedal episode 26

Hmm… Yeah… Why was this episode even created? I mean… What purpose does it serve? It doesn’t add anything, it doesn’t tell us anything and it certainly wasn’t exciting. Calling it a mediocre episode would be the most generous thing you could do.

[HorribleSubs] Yowamushi Pedal - 26 [720p].mkv_snapshot_05.08_[2014.04.09_22.19.00]Had this been episode twenty-five point five, okay… But no! It was an actual episode where the characters continued their b*tching about the last couple of episodes. What was the point? We know why that gay-looking guy lost. No point in explaining that he lost because he chose to dodge instead of rushing forward. He chose safety over victory, that’s all there is to it. We already knew that.

The second half, for what it’s worth at this point, was a lot better because of Sakamichi’s unfortunate accident. So what if he fell of his bicycle? Isn’t that his speciality? He falls for some reason and then gets back up again. Just watch, he’ll get back up, finds the motivation to get back in the game and amazes us by catching up again.

Yowamushi Pedal episode 25

It’s the calm before the storm. I have not a lot to write about. Yowamushi Pedal is really the only show that I have left to review until the other shows start and until the Naruto Shippuuden fillers end. This post, too, will be a short one.

[HorribleSubs] Yowamushi Pedal - 25 [720p].mkv_snapshot_11.31_[2014.04.01_22.28.39]Shoukichi and Jin finally unleashed their secret weapons and Touichirou realized what happens when you underestimate your opponents. It’s a good lesson learned. He was so focused on his abs, which was really getting to me, that he did not realize what was going on around him. I for one can’t talk much more of his inanities.

I’m just glad that the better man, Jin, was the one to get the first checkpoint. Touichirou ended third and little Shoukichi second. I actually think that it would’ve been best if that little guy ended third. His aerodynamic racing style should not have been enough for him to get second place there. Jin was simply brilliant. That’s all there is to it.

Yowamushi Pedal episode 24

Oh hell yeah, this race is definitely going to last at least ten more episodes. In fact, I’m pretty sure that it’s going to last until the end of the show. That is how most sports-genre anime are. The greatest thing about Yowamushi Pedal is that, unlike with Kuroko no Basuke, it doesn’t rely on supernatural nonsense.

[HorribleSubs] Yowamushi Pedal - 24 [720p].mkv_snapshot_04.14_[2014.03.25_23.33.40]So gay-brows (my nickname for that gay-looking guy with the strange eyebrows and the body of a Greek god) rushed ahead and told us all a little story about how he worked so very hard to become a well-oiled racing machine by training as much as he could every single day. He forgot about cycling altogether and focussed entirely on obtaining a body that would make people think he’s some kind of steroid junky. The result? A fearsome sprinting machine that cannot be stopped unless you are a freak of nature yourself. Kind of unbelievable if you think he never cycled during his training. Unbelievable and somewhat unfair.

[HorribleSubs] Yowamushi Pedal - 24 [720p].mkv_snapshot_20.00_[2014.03.25_23.34.21]This is where the sudden ‘power boost” comes in. Still no supernatural crap, all can still be explained. Shoukichi chose to rely on aerodynamics and Jin chose to rely on his freakishly huge lungs. My money’s on Jin. Shoukichi’s technicalities will only get you so far, but Jin’s insane lung capacity will allow him to run faster and longer.

Shingo didn’t impress me during his race from a year ago and I doubt that’s going to change any time soon. I’m kind of wondering how Sakamichi will fit in all of this. Shoukichi and Jin have gone out together to get the sprint checkpoint. Will Sakamichi and Yuusuke be sent out to get the climbing checkpoint? That would leave Shingo and Shunsuke, all all-rounder, to do the rest.

Yowamushi Pedal episode 23

Ah, so the actual race has begun. I’m guessing that it’s going to take at least seven or eight episodes to finish after which Sakamichi will take the spotlight quite a few times. I’m talking about a rough prediction, of course. In stories like these a single race, based on the importance of it, could very well use up ten or more episodes.

[HorribleSubs] Yowamushi Pedal - 23 [720p].mkv_snapshot_06.47_[2014.03.18_22.30.30]The start if the episode is actually what kind of stuck, you know? I can’t seem to get passed it. Sakamichi confronted his mother and she seems to think that he was doing some anime-related cycling. We all know her son by now. We really cannot be surprised by that. It’s just… What is it that we can expect from that particular scene? Will his mother suddenly show up to stop him from racing? Strange scene…

I have to be honest by saying that I’m really expecting very little from Shingo. He knows how it works in the racing world and he knows how to help his friends by giving them instructions. That’s all I really know about him. The rest of the team all have specific responsibilities in this race, even Shunsuke, an all-rounder.

[HorribleSubs] Yowamushi Pedal - 23 [720p].mkv_snapshot_13.20_[2014.03.18_22.30.43]A good example of that is Shingo’s decision to send out Shoukichi and Jin to take the lead position and the first checkpoint. It all seemed far too easy and quite annoying. I don’t like the idea of those two constantly b*tching about every single thing. It’s nice that they’re competitive, just keep it down. But yeah, that all changed when Touichirou, whom I still think is gay, arrived. This cycling machine from Hakone Academy showed up and showed those two the difference between them. This guy is also a sprinter and took the lead with very little effort. It’s probably one of those typical characters to make the others look weak. Oh yeah, I sense a power boost coming.
