Ano Natsu de Matteru

Boy, this turned out so much different than I had imagined. I read about this anime when the first charts came out, but it didn’t really sound very exciting. In the end I ended up enjoying myself as I watched the first episode. Goes to show that you just can’t judge a book by it’s over.

The artwork is pretty good; I saw very few details that have room for improvement, but nothing major.  The characters are pretty well drawn, as they don’t look like your average character. This show’s uniqueness isn’t just defined by its story, but also by its characters.

The story is pretty interesting, although it somewhat resembles several other anime. I’m not saying its copied or anything, but I did notice some similarities. Still, it has to be pretty hard nowadays to be completely unique. I do like the idea of classmates living with another, because that just gives the story so many hilarious and exciting opportunities.

I advise you to try the first episode. I wasn’t exciting about this story at all when I first read about it, but I was very entertained when I watched the first episode. Who knows? You might just like it as well!

Plot Summary: When a group of friends decide to make a movie over a long summer holiday, they end up learning a little about filmmaking and a lot more about each other and themselves. What begins as a simple way to avoid the summer doldrums quickly turns into something much more complex, intimate and revealing, as the maturing relationships between the members of the young cast take on new, and sometimes very unexpected, turns.
