Ao Haru Ride episode 03
Quite a messy episode. I expected something a little bit different. I was already going for a hopeless pursuit where Futaba would try desperately to find traces of the boy she used to like. In a way I think she already is trying.
I didn’t expect that the show would take such a strange turn where Kou, the no longer shy protagonist, would appear to be so sensitive. I just thought it was because his old brother turned out to be one of their teachers, and this guy in so worried about his little brother after his father and mother broke up… Well… I thought that, but it simply took a different turn. I was actually more surprised that Futaba basically told Kou that she used to like him back in the day and that she knew that he liked her, too. I thought that would mark the start of an interesting relationship, but no… Not yet.
This episode was so strange that there’s very little that I want to say. I’m just worried that this whole show will turn into one of those group-romances, you know? They all get new friends instead of pretending to someone they’re not. They all fall in love with someone and soon you’ll have one love triangle after the other. I honestly don’t want this show to be one of those long, boring quests to see if true love will conquer all and such. I honestly am not interested in teenage love drama. It’s always so overreacted and corny and the problems always seem so insignificant (mainly because I look at it from an adult’s point of view).
