Bakuman 2 episode 24

Good job, SageSubs. However, I ended up watching the episode right anyway. I was actually a little bit surprised by how much I understood. Just one more episode before I can unleash my curious wrath upon the manga. I’m going to read the hell out of it, just see if I don’t!

I was really nervous when I started watching the episode. Everyone at the serialization committee all finished voting, and it didn’t look good for the boys, until someone stood up and said that it was wrong to decide their fate at Shonen Jack by voting, and that the fans should decide whether or not their latest masterpiece is worth publishing. Soon everyone wanted to change their vote to “yes”, resulting in Perfect Crime Club, Ashirogi Muto’s latest masterpiece, getting accepted by the committee. Hisashi was definitely happy about the outcome, I could tell that much, but it’s all up to Moritaka and Akito now. They are going to have to beat either +Natural or Crow, but preferably both.

It’s about time that they cut the boys some slack. Both of them have overcome so many hardships, so they deserve a little extra every now and then. This week’s little extra was that Akira has switched with Gorou, meaning that he is their editor once more. The chief made this decision because he thought that Akira understands the boys better than anyone else, and that it would better for everyone if he were to return as their editor. He was disappointed at first, he was ripped away from +Natural, a hit that he helped create, in order to start on something new. I could understand his disappointment, definitely, but he soon realized, just like most of us viewers, that it was the best choice for everyone.

There have been a lot of changes during these last couple of episodes, changes that probably not everyone wants, poor Aiko-chan, who seems to think that she lost yet another love of her life, being one of those people. Change is never easy, but sometimes it’s a necessary evil, and that’s something that Aiko-chan will have to accept. I don’t envy Gorou at all, now that he has to work with an enraged Aiko-chan.

I can’t wait to see what happens last week. I’m expecting one hell of an episode to finalize yet another great season of Bakuman. There’s one thing that’s bothering me though… Moritaka and Akito escaped this dreadful situation a bit too easy, there’s bound to be a strong or two attached, I can feel it. Those two have always been challenged to bring out their maximum potential, so I doubt that it’ll be different this time. I just hope that their contract won’t be on the line again, but we’ll just have to wait and see.
