Bakuman 3 episode 06

What a chaotic episode. Too much happened in such a short time. I’m not sure I like it. I always thought that Bakuman’s pace was one of its best qualities, but this may have been a bit too fast. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining. It’s been a very good episode.

It’s the start that was chaotic. Neither Moritaka nor Akito could come up with a good idea for a manga. They had to make a one-shot for a competition. However, it soon turned into an all-out war between artists to make the best love-genre manga. How foolish, Moritaka, Akito, Eiji and Shinta don’t have wait it takes to create a good love manga. That goes double for Eiji, seeing as he’s never even experienced love. Hell, the thought of Eiji falling never even entered my mind (until now), not even when Aiko was acting weird after she was complimented by him. Poor guy…

What’s really important here is that Akito focussed on Shun and his manga for the last time. You see, Akito spent the night at Shun’s place, teaching him how to carry on from here on out. Shun, thanks to Akito and Akira, can now continue on his own. That’s what Akito was after from the beginning. Now he can focus on making a new manga with Moritaka.

I’m really happy. Not because of the competition, not because of the pace and not because Akito’s fully focussed on making a new manga now. I’m happy because I’ve slightly forgotten what their new manga is all about. I read the Bakuman manga, but it’s been a long time ago. I’m sure I’ll remember once I see it, but I’m in the dark until then. I like that!
