Bakuman 3 episode 07

I cannot believe this. I just cannot believe this. It’s like season two all over again. Why is it that Bakuman always gets released a few days later? One would think that a lot of fansubbers would jump straight to it, seeing as it’s a very popular show. It’s really a shame, because now I’m forced to delay each and every Bakuman review by a week.

This episode was a long time coming, that’s for sure. It’s about time that Kazuya, quite possibly the craziest character on the show, found a little bit of happiness. I don’t see how he couldn’t be happy though. He’s rich thanks to his manga. He drives around his expensive cars, lives in an expensive-looking apartment and wears expensive-looking stuff.

Luckily for us that this episode wasn’t about his wealth. It was about Kazuya’s feelings towards Yuriko, a shy, but very sweet woman. He thought that it was time to take her out and tell her about his feelings, the feelings that pretty much everyone in Bakuman knows about already. I thought it was ridiculous that Kouji, his editor, tried to stop him from doing anything rash, but I’m glad he failed to stop him.

Kazuya, with all of his friends watching (thanks to Kouji’s actions), asked Yuriko to go steady and she said yes. I couldn’t have been more pleased. To those make a strange, yet very good couple. Yuriko doesn’t feel comfortable around most men, but she has had no problems whatsoever with Kazuya. It was only natural for her to be interested in him as well.

As great as this episode was, I’ll be all too happy when things return to ‘normal’ next week, especially now that a mysterious new author has surfaced with a lot of talent. I’ve seen this bit in the manga and I didn’t like it one bit to be honest, so I’m rather hoping that this will all be over in a couple of episodes, at most!
