Bakuman 3 episode 14

I’m glad to see that people are finally focussing on Bakuman. It’s always so frustrating when the most popular shows get released later than others. We need our weekly fix on a regular basis, people! Stop trying to work on your social lives, you don’t need them. Throw it all away and become a real, hard-core fansubber. And yes, I’m a huge egoist with a strange sense of humour.

People weren’t worried about it at first, as they thought that he had long forgotten about his request to have the right to end a manga he didn’t like. His editor, Yujiro, actually thought he had matured beyond the point where he would ask the editor-in-chief for something like that. Wrong, but I’ll get to that later.

I’ll briefly focus on the fact that Takuro, quite possibly (one of) the fattest character(s) in anime, is once again being helped by another mangaka. Doesn’t he have any shame? He practically assaulted his previous manga partner, Yuriko-chan, messed with the order in which manga is created, and now he has the audacity to crawl back to the manga world with the help of another manga and his editor? I dreamt of a scene where that guy gets hit by a monster truck. Pure bliss!

Let’s focus on the fact that Eiji announced, after his home got invaded by a group of worried mangaka, that he wants to cancel his own manga, Crow. He stated that he wants the right to end his own manga in his own way, and I am inclined to agree with him. Why shouldn’t an author have the right to create an ending of his/her choosing? Just because the manga is selling well? Hell no! Good things deserve good endings.

Still, I thought it was rather shameless of everyone to rush to his house after they heard about his right to cancel a manga of his choosing. Everyone thought that their manga was done for, so they decided, quite pitifully I might add, to ask him about it in person. So much for trust… But hey, at least it ended well. Makes me really want to watch the next episode, too!
