Bakuman 3 episode 20

Hello everyone! I would like to share some personal information before I start this review. You see, I have this habit of summarizing episodes with a single word. Sometimes I use epic, sometimes crap or sometimes I just hit myself for watching certain episodes altogether and say nothing afterwards because I’m too ashamed. Frankly, I tried doing the same thing with this episode. I failed.

[sage]_Bakuman_S3_-_20_[720p][F0E6F032].mkv_snapshot_12.45_[2013.02.19_20.41.43]The episode in question starts out very normally. We see Moritaka and Akito share their future plans for Reversi, their latest masterpiece, with their editor, Akira. Nothing special about that. We all knew that those two manga freaks were going to keep things short and powerful without having to prolong the series until it gets boring and cancelled.

That’s when the tide turned and the spotlight fell on Kazuya, whose latest manga will get animated as well, his editor and the always lovely Yuriko. I didn’t expect much. Kazuya got himself another anime adaption and Yuriko’s manga got cancelled. That’s a total mood kill, right? Wrong. I still cannot believe what happened after that.

[sage]_Bakuman_S3_-_20_[720p][F0E6F032].mkv_snapshot_19.30_[2013.02.19_20.42.01]Kazuya decided to cheer Yuriko up by asking her out on a date to an amusement park. Forget about him asking her out, I can definitely see him doing that, but I cannot believe his editor, Kouji, actually rooted for him this time. Is he dying? It’s usually Kouji’s mission to stop Kazuya from doing stupid things, but now he’s actually encouraging Kazuya to ask Yuriko to marry him? Don’t get me wrong, I’m not surprised she said yes. They are perfect for each other. I’m just shocked his editor was so supportive.

I know I’m supposed to say something about the fact that Moritaka and Akito’s manga, Reversi, is lacking on so many departments, but I won’t get into details. Their manga is better. The only reason why Eiji is doing better in sales is because of the fans that loved Crow, his earlier work. It’s Moritaka and Akito that will win in the end, probably. Besides, an anime adaption of Reversi may just be around the corner.
