Bakuman 3 episodes 10 & 11

I don’t want to sound like I’m complaining or anything, but why is it that we get two new Bakuman episodes in two days? I thought they were five to seven days behind schedule? Not that it matters. It gives me the opportunity to catch up by reviewing these two episodes at once. Warning: I will only discuss the scenes that appealed to me!’

[SFW-sage]_Bakuman_S3_-_10_[720p][4F9AC572].mkv_snapshot_10.19_[2012.12.17_23.08.07]Let’s start this off with the fact that Shiratori, everyone’s favourite closet homosexual, lost his serialization after his manga became dull and uninteresting. This news hit Moritaka and Akito via yet another old Assistant of theirs. These things happen. He will now have to deal with it, find some new inspiration and try again with a different manga.

Now, I don’t want to start the Tooru-bashing early, but I would like to say that his methods, as good as it may seem at first, are his biggest weakness. You can’t create a manga made out of ideas from fifty different people. It’ll get inconsistent and hard to understand, but I’ll get to that later.

[SFW-sage]_Bakuman_S3_-_11_[720p][3BF240F6].mkv_snapshot_05.42_[2012.12.17_23.08.57]Let’s focus on Takuro, a fatty that’s larger than life itself. I wouldn’t be surprised if his assistants will soon be orbiting around him if he continues to eat that much pizza. It’s really sad that he left the country side once more to become someone’s assistant, something that never wanted to do ever again, merely because Tooru offered him a good pay and free meals. He has definitely changed into something worse. He’s still a huge sexist, egomaniac and he’s even gotten fatter since we last saw him. How is that even possible? A person’s heart will not last with that must fat, especially for an elderly man (not that I care about whether that character lives or dies).

Episode eleven teaches us, the viewers, a valuable lesson; don’t use daddy’s money to do something when you have absolutely no idea how to do it. It soon became clear that he’s in over his head. His manga started out great. After all, it was a new and interesting idea. That soon changed after just a few chapters. He couldn’t get passed the fifteenth position.

Bakuman teaches us that it’s very bad for a manga to remain in the double digits for too long. Serializations get cancelled that way. And, just as expected, Tooru’s manga is no exception. He knew that and challenged Moritaka and Akito to a final showdown to see who’s better. I can pretend I’m curious about who’ll win, but everyone (and I really mean everyone) knows it’s going to be those two.
