Bakuman 3 episodes 18 & 19

I’m getting really fed up with these irregular Bakuman releases. Stop it! It’s disrespectful to this great show, a show that makes most of the others look like crap. I actually sent an E-mail to Sage, one of the fansub groups, asking them why it’s always so irregular. I’m just too curious. I need to know.

[sage]_Bakuman_S3_-_18_[720p][9689D178].mkv_snapshot_12.40_[2013.02.12_22.22.55]I’m covering two episodes at once now, so I’ll just talk about the things that caught my attention the most. One of these things was the fact that Moritaka and Akito decided on their new manga. They want to run two manga’s at the same time. This is impossible for most authors, but there’s two of them, plus the editors found a way to make that possible.

PCP was supposed to stay at Shonen Jack and their latest creation, Reversi, was supposed to go to the new publisher, thereby making Reversi a monthly thing. Nobody really wanted that, especially Eiji. Eiji wanted to fight those two head-on with Zombie Gun manga. That’s why the higher ups decided to switch Reversi with PCP, which means that Reversi will be released weekly at Shonen Jack and PCP on a monthly basis.

[sage]_Bakuman_S3_-_19_[720p][7ABE76BA].mkv_snapshot_05.09_[2013.02.12_22.23.23]A lot of things happened, but I think we can all agree that it’s all good. I don’t think there’s anything to worry about at this point. Moritaka and Akito have decided on what to do and are happy with the result. They are also very happy that Akira is to be the editor for Reversi. I get that, I really do, but those are only minor details. I don’t see how it would matter. At the end of the day it’s the author’s choice to create the manga. I don’t think authors are forced to do the things the editors want, seeing as it’s their creation and all. I could be wrong though. I don’t know how that world works, although I would certainly like to know more.

[sage]_Bakuman_S3_-_19_[720p][7ABE76BA].mkv_snapshot_22.48_[2013.02.12_22.24.00]I’m also very happy that Moritaka and Akito are doing so well with Reversi. It’s a huge hit. They actually managed to take the first place for three straight weeks. That’s impressive. Still, I cannot help but feel that it’s all part of Eiji’s plan though. That guy is a mangaka from hell, a true freak of nature. He will have foreseen this, so one can only imagine that he’s up to something. It just makes the story a whole lot more interesting. We already know that Eiji figured out Reversi’s fatal flaw. It’s hard to kill characters with Reversi, that’s why it’s hard to introduce twists, but it’s a lot easier with Zombie Gun, a story that doesn’t focus on specific characters. I guess Eiji has the upper hand when it comes to creativity.
