Blade and Soul episode 03
You know, the funny thing about anime that has been adapted from games and the like, is that they focus quite a lot on the characters and their proportions. They often focus on the breasts and hipline, at least more than with manga adaptions, I think.
I cannot help but notice a constant pattern here. Episode one: Aruka meets a couple of guys in her journey that take her to their village to become some kind of body guard. Episode two: Aruka arrives in some messed up city where she meets some no-name bounty hunter that starts out as her friend, but only wanted her so that she could pay for her drinks and is now doing her best to try and kill her because of the bounty on her head. Episodes three: Aruka, trying to fight off that girl from episode two, meets up with yet another characters, becomes acquainted after following her to her hideout, only to end up being blown away by the character that supposedly killed her master.
Do you see the pattern now, too? Aruka arrives at whatever place, meets whatever character and ends up fighting for her life at the end. It could be that it’s only the first few episodes to bring all of the key characters into the picture, but I might actually stop writing about Blade and Soul if every single episode is like that.
You can already tell that they’re building up to the next episode using the exact same method. Aruka is now missing after being attacked by same crazy woman and her mysterious powers and that bounty hunter from episode two. She will probably get saved by someone or meet someone after dragging herself out of the water, become ‘friends’ and end up being attacked again. Isn’t that how these things usually go?
