BlazBlue: Alter Memory

I suppose it had to happen eventually. The BlazBlue games are a hit in Japan, just like pretty much all of the BlazBlue merchandise. I’m not at all surprised that they actually made an anime adaption. It happens more often than you might think.

BlazBlue Alter MemoryHehe, you can clearly see that they spared no expense when it comes to artwork. It was very detailed from what I could see and the characters all look spot-on. I’m pretty sure that Taokaka will be one of the most favourite characters on this show for a lot of people.

Unfortunately, the story lacks foundation. Hell, it lacks everything. Just because you make one of the main characters look like a total badass, which he is, doesn’t mean you have a good thing going. The story just doesn’t measure up to the rest.

BlazBlue fans will watch this either way, no point in recommend it to those people. I personally think that it might be something that action fans might enjoy, but I can’t really recommend it because of its lacking story.

Plot Summary: The story is set in December of 2199, when the streets are full of anticipation for the end of the year and the start of the new one. Amid the celebrations, word spreads that Ragna the Bloodedge, an SS-class rebel with the highest ever bounty on his head, has appeared in the 13th Hierarchical City of Kagutsuchi. The apparent aim of Ragna or the “Grim Reaper” is the destruction of the system controlling the world. To collect the bounty, a motley array of unrivaled fighters converge on Kagutsuchi.
