Campione!

Interesting, very interesting indeed. I knew I was going to follow this anime the moment I first read about it. I actually tried my best not to peek at the manga, knowing that the anime was going to air in just a matter of weeks, and here it is…

The artwork is quite nice. However, I must say that the main characters aren’t really that special. I mean, you wouldn’t be able to pick them out of a 20 character line-up. I always believe that unique and memorable characters add significant value to a show. Other than that things look good.

The story is the clincher here. It’s very unique, interesting and inviting. Let’s face it, how many shows about humans fighting gods with magical items have you seen so far? Not many, I’m sure of that. Mind you, it all seems a bit one-sided. A guy obtains golden sword with the power to kill gods, thereby giving him the title of “Campione”. It’ll be fun to find out where they’re taking this.

The question is; do I recommend it? Well, yes, I do. It’s pretty funny, daring and overall interesting. This can turn out to be something good, so I’ll be following this for the time being. Besides, I’m a big fan of ecchi romances, which is why I’ll even consider writing about it, providing it doesn’t air during the weekend.

Plot Summary: Kusanagi Godo is a 16-year-old high school boy, who once killed the god “Verethragna” and acquired the title of “Campione (god killer)” when he was 15. Erica Brandelli is a 16-year-old Italian girl, who is a “Great Knight” of the magic society “Bronze Black Cross” and had fought together with Godo to defeat Verethragna. Godo doesn’t like fighting but his title of “Campione” makes him get involved in battles against other Campiones and uncontrollable gods.

There aint nothing wrong with magic anime. People feel too grown up to relate to these things, i think.
