Chihayafuru 2 episode 21
Okay, enough is enough. I keep seeing the same thing over and over again. This was supposed to be the moment where Arata and Shinobu take the stage, not Chihaya and her team again. When is it enough?
I still can’t believe that Chihaya stood in the spotlight again. She’s been the favourite all season long, taking up most of the screen-time. Just because she has a handicap this time doesn’t mean you should pamper her any longer than you already have. It’s getting really ridiculous if you ask me, but this could be just me overreacting again.
How childish for people to get excited when Chihaya switched her cards to the other side. She’s using her other arm this time, so it’s not all that surprising that she did everything differently. So why is it that I’m reading responses from people that talk about it as though she’s the first to discover fire? It’s not that big a deal, people!
I can’t believe I’m about to say this, but I actually hope that Shinobu is going to give her hell next week. I swear, here and now, that I’ll drop Chihayafuru on the spot if it turns out that Chihaya actually beats Shinobu in her state. I’ve seen enough of those ‘power-up’ scenes for one lifetime, so spare me, please.
The only thing good about this episode is that we finally got to see Arata play. So what if he was beating the living hell out of Yuusei? Who cares? Arata is godlike when it comes to Karuta. He needs to win for the story to make sense, that’s all there is to it. I’ll be looking forward to the match between him and Shinobu.
