Chihayafuru 2 episode 24
I ask you all; would I be considered a coward or deranged if I told you that I almost shat myself during the first two minutes or so? That’s right, always start off a review of a great episode with a strange, mentally unstable opening line.
The reason I asked you that in the first place is because I really felt uncomfortable during the first two minutes or so. I saw a lot of Daichi and Chihaya. I was worried that I would once again get to see more of Chihaya and her team than I would of Arata and Shinobu. That thought really sent a shiver down my spine after waiting for this moment for weeks…
Can you imagine the smile on my face when the screen suddenly jumped to their match? When I suddenly laid eyes upon Arata’s awesome play? My smile was huge as soon as I found out that Arata was in the lead. I’m sure most of you would agree with me when said that Shinobu really needed to lose this time in order to get better.
I am really happy with this episode. I finished things nicely between Arata and Shinobu, yet there’s still one episode left. One more episode to give us an equally good ending… I can’t wait! I doubt the ending will be better than the scene where Shinobu lost against Arata for the second time, but it’s hard to imagine an ending that could surpass all that.
Chihayafuru, despite it being focussed on a select few characters this entire time, has made my books as one of the best card game-genre anime. To hell with stuff like Cardfight!! Vanguard or Live On Cardliver Kakeru. Chihafuru surpassed them easily. But it ends here I think. These two season have served their true purpose; to make more people buy the manga.
