Code:Breaker episode 07

Switching time! Normally I would’ve written about Bakuman for Tuesday. But, since Bakuman is usually released late, I have no other choice but to switch Code:Breaker with Bakuman. Not a bad idea though, because this week’s episode of Code:Breaker was awesome and I really want to write down what I want to say about it.

Let’s talk about that whole being “Lost” thing. It’s not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. Frankly, I was under the impression that people would power would permanently lose their powers. But no, they get sick (in their own way) for a whole day, so they just lose their powers for twenty-four hours. I was so relieved. I can’t imagine this anime without Rei as the main character. And Rei is not Rei without his powers.

I also liked it when everyone decided to retreat to Sakura’s house. Sakura, being the daughter of a Yakuza boss, is well protected by dozens of armed men. That is probably why she suggested that she and her friends retreated to her house. A very smart move indeed. It makes me want to know more about Sakura and where she comes from.

But, the one that really took the cake was Hitomi, Code:Breaker zero-one. He betrayed the organization and is plotting to destroy it. He, using the power of electricity, easily infiltrated Sakura’s home and almost managed to abduct her, even though that wasn’t actually his plan. To think that one guy could do so much damage. And the way that character uses his ability is brilliant. After all, electricity could somewhat operate the body, even after death.

Hell, I was surprised that he, being the decoy and all, actually managed to find another person with powers to abduct the prime minister while he was entertaining all the Code:Breakers. That character could definitely take down that organization like this, especially since Masaomi, Code:Breaker zero-two, couldn’t even put a scratch on Hitomi.
