Code:Breaker episode 10

Oh no, not one of these… I hate these episodes (not really)! They always make me think twice about which side is good and which is bad. I suppose it makes the story worthwhile. It stops people from picking the obvious main character, in this case Rei. Not that it matters in my case, seeing as Rei’s far from being my favourite.

It all comes down to the fact that Code:Breakers, people with (powerful) special abilities that have been handpicked by those in power, are nothing more than disposable tools, even though Hitomi didn’t realize it at first and still joined up with them.

I always thought that it was strange, but I never really took notice of it. After all, all of the Code:Breakers are now aware of the consequences, and know that their powers can go out of control if they can’t go “lost”. I guess that whole going “lost” business is like a pressure valve; it takes away some of the pressure for twenty-four hours, so that the person in question doesn’t go berserk.

It made me rethink that whole “fighting for justice” bullsh*t that the Code:Breakers claim to be doing. Sure, they take out bad guys every now and again, but at what cost? None of those guys seem to be operating under the idea of “kill one guy and maybe save a dozen”, especially not Rei.

I know I had my doubts about Code:Breaker at first, and for good reason too, but I’m actually looking forward to the ending. I have high hopes and I’m confident when saying that it’s probably going to be a good one. I can’t wait to see what happens!
