I got interested by reading the synopsis a few weeks ago because it sounded like it could have a lot of potential. That is why I watched this closely and in the end I went “meh”. It has betrayed my expectations.
I was quite hyped at first. The artwork looked pretty good, I liked the characters so far and those vehicles all seemed pretty cool. Then the mechs showed up and I got a lot less excited about it. I honestly think they could’ve used a lot more work. They don’t look very creative. None of them so far.
And the story… Well… I wouldn’t give this five stars. The story is a little weak. Yes, it seems fairly interesting, but it’s by no means as good as the artwork. Even the sound effects might’ve been better.
This really depends on whether or not you like this sort of thing. I personally like mecha-genre shows if they’re pretty dramatic. The darker the better. This doesn’t seem very dark to me, but I’ll be giving the second episode a try.
Plot Summary: On the planet Gift there are precious crystals called Giftjium buried in the earth. A young man named Sōgo lives in Garden Indigo, a prosperous mining town. One day, he gets wrapped up in a riot caused by his classmates Kaon, Roman, and Otto, and he loses his way until he finds a lake deep under the ground’s mining ruins. There, he meets a mysterious girl with blue hair and red eyes that gaze straight ahead. The story follows the adventure of what happens after this meeting.
