Denki-gai no Honya-san
This wasn’t nearly as funny as I hoped it would be. I do have to admit that it was pretty amusing, but I thought I would have to call an ambulance after nearly laughing myself to death. That thought never even crossed my mind.
The artwork is okay. Weird that Pony Canyon, responsible for creating many amazing shows, is somehow responsible for this. It doesn’t look bad at all, but I still think it would’ve looked better. I absolutely love the expressions though.
The story is rather weak. It’s a head-on comedy with no actual storyline for what I could tell. It just follows a group of teenagers that all happen to work for the same bookstore. It’s probably going to be more (dry) comedy than storytelling.
Comedy fans will probably enjoy watching this sort of thing. The start was a bit strange, but I am still going to give this another try when the next episode comes out. I suggest you just watch the first episode with an open mind and decide for yourself if this is worth watching or not. Just don’t expect a great story.
Plot Summary: Umanohone (Horse Bone) is a comic book store in the electronics district. The story follows the lives of the workers at the store as well as their colorful customers, all of whom are hardcore fans of one genre or another.
