Last Exile

What in the name of Mr. Fluffyballz is this? The anime starts out with the sight of six moons and some little girl undressing herself. Only in Japan people, only in Japan.

This anime sort of reminds me of Eureka Seven, probably because of those (flying) mechs. I’m not saying that there’s anything wrong with it, Eureka Seven was great, but this one’s similar to a lot of things. You could describe it as a Eureka Seven, Jak & Daxter and Final Fantasy mix. It’s only natural that this anime would be given the sum of twenty-six episodes, after all; it looks very promising.

The artwork is good, you can tell that they went all out on the details. If the story is going to be half as good then it’s a definite jackpot. Stories like these are usually pretty risky, you never know how people will react. I’m a follower either way, I just hope I won’t see many more little girls undressing, that would be disturbing, even for Japan.

Plot Summary: In a world that looks like the 19th century with anti-gravity devices, Claus and Lavie are pilot and co-pilot of a Vanship and act as couriers. They become involved with a mysterious mission after rescuing a little girl from a strange star-shaped killing machine. Not willing to let the girl die, they complete the mission by delivering her to the legendary mercenary ship Sylvana, only to become part of the crew as fighter pilots.
