Fate/Zero 2 episode 10
What an epic episode! I’m really starting to get nervous. Just a couple of episodes left, so things are really starting to unfold right about now. Rider really was my favourite character on this show, by far. It took me a while to realize that, but hey, better late than never. I almost got emotional when he died. Yeah, almost, but then I remembered that I’m a guy, so I’m not allowed to show emotion!
The battle between Rider and Archer was truly epic. I always thought that Archer was such an unfair character, because his powers are just too much. I thought that it would be a fair fight if Rider managed to get him into his Reality Marble, but no. Archer destroyed everything, including the Reality Marble itself. I thought to myself; Maybe Rider was simply out of Mana? I wasn’t sure, but his defeat seemed a bit too easy. We mustn’t forget that Waver resigned as his Master, and so he was no longer capable of providing Rider with Mana. Now, I’m not saying that that’s the reason he lost, but I’m sure that it had something to do with it.
Meanwhile Saber was up against Berserker, whom turned out to be none other than Lancelot, one of King Arthur’s (a.k.a. Saber) loyal warriors. Saber was pretty shaken up when she found out, but it’s not like she had any say in the matter. They may have been allies in the past, but they are enemies in the present. It’s pretty awesome though. I really hope that I get to see some of Saber’s abilities during the next episode. It’s not like I’m rooting for her, but I sure as hell don’t want Berseker and Kariya to win. They don’t deserve, especially not after what Kariya has done.
You know, seeing Archer’s weapon made me remember the battle between him and Saber in Fate Stay/Night. That was one hell of a battle. I seriously hope that we get to see something like that again during the next couple of episodes. I hope Kiritsugu will deliver that Scabbard in time, because Saber will not be able to use her full power without it. This episode actually gave me Goosebumps, and the next one probably will too. I can’t wait!
