Gatchaman Crowds

Seriously, I just finished watching this ten minutes ago… What the hell did I see here? Special note books that give assignments, a loli in a tight bikini and guys randomly transforming to defeat enemies that look like broken Rubik’s cubes? Oh boy…

Gatchaman CrowdsThe artwork, lord help me, is so-so. It looks really low budget at first, but then you see all these details in the scenery and in the characters, and you start to wonder what the hell is going on here. The biggest flaw here would be Hajime’s personality. She looks cute, but the way she talks and acts is absolutely annoying if you watch for too long, which is absurd considering Maaya Uchida, a very known and talented young lady, is the one doing her voice.

The story… Meh. I want to call it unique and interesting, but to me it just seems like a mash-up of different pieces. It’s too soon to say anything about the story, we haven’t even learned anything about that whole “Gatchaman” organisation yet.

Sci-fi fans will eat this stuff up, especially since this season is filled with not but slice of life crap. You really need to look flashy characters, flashy moves and flashy transformations, otherwise this isn’t for you.

Plot Summary: The story is set in Japan in the early summer of 2015. 180,000 people live in Tachikawa City, the “second metropolis” of the Tokyo area. Among them are “Gatchaman”—warriors who fight in special reinforced suits powered by “NOTE,” the manifestation of special spiritual powers in living beings. A council has scouted a group of individuals with latent powers to protect Earth from alien criminals. In recent years, the council has assigned Gatchaman warriors to deal with the mysterious entity known as “MESS.”
