Gate episode 03
This turned out to be quite the eventful episodes. I did say that I really liked Gate because I was always fascinated by the idea of war between modern day civilizations as we know them and civilizations from the Middle Ages.
Yes. I said that. This definitely isn’t like what I had imagined, I’ll be honest. I did not really think about magic or fire breathing dragons that terrorize the lands. I would have preferred a huge army of men wielding swords, pike’s, bows and various other medieval weapons against a small army of modern soldiers and their modern weapons. I guess I will have to overlook those dragons and the fact that some of the characters use magic and possibly other supernatural characters that may or may not show up as time passes. A small price to pay for an otherwise promising show.
But hey, the progress this week was pretty impressive. We now have ourselves an elf, a gothic loli (so far my favourite), a young mage and her teacher. They all seem to have been added to the journey. That’s almost all the characters I’ve seen on the pictures. I’d really like to see more of Rory-chan. That character looks amazing and her weapon looks freakishly awesome.
The way I see it; that princess is being used by her father to scout that hill and gather as much information as she can. He seeks more and more power and he thinks he can use Japan’s defence force as a tool to help him obtain it. I can only hope that his red-headed daughter will see it in time before she does something really stupid.
