Gin no Saji 2 episode 08
I thought that the Naruto Shippuuden fillers were over since we had two episodes this week, but no, they’re still going strong. I’m guessing that I’ll be posting Gin no Saji episodes on Saturday for a few more weeks. Probably until the second Gin no Saji season ends.
So a new episode arrives and we immediately dive in a world of pain and misery. They covered it up by starting out with this cheese-making business at the beginning of the episode, which I found very informative. In fact, I quite liked that because I always wanted to try making my own cheese. It sounded easy enough until I saw that scene. Seems like a whole lot of work…
Anyway, during this episode we learned why Ichirou, the school’s biggest baseball freak, wasn’t attending school during the past few episodes. It seems that he dropped out because he can no longer afford to spend his time learning new things when he could earning money by working. You see, his family just went bankrupt and they need money to pay off their debts.
This all sounds very problematic and dreadful. It is. It truly is. However, things got so much worse when they revealed that the Mikage family co-signed the Komaba family’s loan, which means that the Mikage family’s business is now on the line as well. Things will only get worse if the Komaba family cannot pay off their debts in time.
This one episode, as dreadful as it truly was, explained so many things. After seeing the episode I actually stopped and thought about it for a few minutes. It’s almost a given that the Mikage will go under as well if the Komaba family can’t come up with the money, and that is why Aki’s usually so on-edge. This is a perfect opportunity for Yugo to shine. He is great with this sort of thing. It may not be any of his business, but it’s the perfect opportunity for him to impress Aki.
