Gugure! Kokkuri-san

I don’t understand what’s so great about this, I’m sorry. I started watching this and the only thing that went through my mind at the time was why I was watching it in the first place. I actually forgot that for a second there.

Gugure! Kokkuri-sanI have a major issue with the artwork. I think it would’ve been fine if it wasn’t for most of the episode, but to watch a chibi character go about her business is annoying. Just show her normal body, please. It would’ve been alright to show the chibi version of Kohina during certain scenes, but certainly not during most of the episode. That really annoyed me.

The story is absolutely nothing special. I don’t care what people say. Characters summing ghosts and other supernatural creatures has been done to death. Those beings coming to live with the main character(s) is nothing special either. It has all been done before.

I am going to be careful with this one and say that I could only ever recommend this show if they were to cut back on those chibi scenes. They are downright annoying. I am aware that that’s my personal opinion, but I cannot help but feel that chibi’s belong in anime shorts.

Plot Summary: A little girl named Kohina ends up summoning a Kokkuri-san, a lower-ranking ghost in Japanese folklore. The Kokkuri-san she calls ends up being a white-haired handsome, young man. Although he had intended to merely haunt her at first, he becomes worried about her terrible eating habit of cup ramen for every meal, so he decides to haunt her in order to protect her.
