Guilty Crown episode 02

Man, the second episode already? Time really does go fast. During this episode I saw some things that I did and did not like. The story so far keeps getting better, although it’s starting to look even more like Code Geass.

What I did not like was Gai’s attitude. He currently functions as commander for all the rebels. A man with that position should have some standards and methods in which he operates. I however did not like his methods. He may be, from what I’ve seen during this episode, a great tactician, but he lacks diplomacy. He practically forced Shu to join his cause by giving him no other options. That’s just wrong, no matter how you look at it.

I also did not like the officer that participated in the anti-body attacks. He is sinister, mentally instable, cocky and kills people when they touch him. I think they should’ve taken a different approach with this character, for example; wouldn’t it be better if he was a tactician as well?

I did however like the relationship between Shu and Inori. It’s that basic shy male and emotionless girl relationship, nothing special and nothing unique.  But that works out pretty well when you look at the big picture. Wouldn’t mind if Gai jumped in to create this male-female-male love triangle, after all; we don’t (at least I don’t) get to see many of those.
