Hajime no Ippo: Rising episode 07
To hell with it! I really didn’t want to write this week’s Hajime no Ippo post today. I’m short on time and my hand is killing me. Then again, I don’t want to have a lot to do tomorrow either. I have two weeks off from work, although most of the time I’ll still be working in order to help out my family.
Moving on… What’s with this development? They cropped everything into one episode… Why? We left last week’s episode with Masaru’s emotional draw. He did not become champion and retiring was definitely on his mind until his girlfriend used her ‘feminine charms’ to cheer him up. Why is it that he showed up with a smile on his face and two of the ugliest characters I’ve ever seen? Not only did those two everything humanly possible to make themselves look like Masaru, which is kind of sad when you think about it, but they also listen to his every word as though he was some kind of god. It gave me the creeps.
On a more serious note, Mamoru never seizes to amaze. He goes through opponents like I go through candy. He doesn’t panic, he doesn’t complain and he always has one thing in mind; improvement. He is seriously planning on relinquishing his title to move up another weight class. That character is seriously overpowered.
I’m actually more focussed on Mamoru right now than I am on Ippo. Sure, Ippo has a fight coming up against a very scary opponent. You really don’t want to find yourself in a tight spot with that guy at the other end. You’ll die. But yeah, Mamoru’s decision to move up to a heavier weight class has got my full attention right now.
