Hajime no Ippo: Rising episode 25
Oh hell yeah, I have no regrets! It’s been one heck of a season and I enjoyed it tremendously. The last few episodes, as strangely placed as they were, were an absolutely delight. I have no problems with this season’s ending whatsoever.
The one thing that really spoke to me during these flashback episodes was the artwork. I loved it. Watching the coach’s face as he drove his fists into his opponent with every ounce of power he had left was absolutely thrilling. It gave me Goosebumps. You can clearly tell that that character was (and still is) very proud and hardworking.
It was a good ending. I almost shed a tear at the end. We all knew that Ippo was moulded into the coach’s image, but we never really knew the reason behind it all. Training Ippo to become a world-class fighter has always been a personal project of his. I guess we finally all understand why. Mamoru is just a born fighter. Ippo on the other hand was forged to become a world-class fighter. Great story!
