Hakkenden: Touhou Hakken Ibun 2 episode 08
Hmm… Not as good as I hoped it would be. Also, I think an episode with a small, interesting side-story is great, but don’t throw in too much of them. I wouldn’t want to lose sight of what’s important here, now do I!
It is quite funny how Shino was forced to attend an elementary school. It’s thanks to Murasame that he still looks like a little boy, and the others simply took advantage of that to get close to a certain boy. Now this boy was one big puzzle, but I’ll get to that later.
Shino was supposed to get closer in order to find out what was wrong with him. Now, make sure you forget about that annoying, clueless monk that showed up during this episode. Forget about most of the people that Shino came in contact with during this episode. None of that really matters at this point.
Shino was ordered to follow a boy around that wasn’t really alive. It may have been a spirit, it may not have been. I have no idea, I wasn’t paying that much attention this time because I was too disappointed. The interesting part, however, is that that boy actually disappeared, yet he looks a lot like the character on the second season’s cover. Did I miss something? I don’t know, it could’ve been Shinobu I suppose. But that kid really looks like the character in the second season’s cover, which made me think; what if he isn’t actually dead? What if he will return later? Unlikely, but possible.
