Hakkenden: Touhou Hakken Ibun 2 episode 12
I’m going to keep both this post and my Naruto Shippuuden post for tomorrow as short as I possibly can because I just don’t have the time right now. All the more reason for me to be glad that Inu to Hasami wa Tsukaiyou took a break this week.
I must say that I’m overall pleased by what I saw in this week’s episode. Things didn’t turn out to be as simple as I original thought, which is something I’m very happy with. It could’ve done with a bit less comedy and a few less ridiculous scenes, but it was still very good. Now would be the time to stop with the side stories.
I certainly did not like the fact that a lot of supernatural creatures are making their way to the city. Those priests are planning to sacrifice a lot of people and a lot of spirits to create a powerful barrier that’s supposed to be protect mankind. One can only be skeptical, but that can only be expected when characters with authority are involved.
I’m also happy that that woman didn’t turn out to be Shino’s mother. That would’ve been too obvious and it wouldn’t have made any sense. Hell, it still doesn’t make much sense, but it’s better than throwing Shino’s long-lost mother in to the mixture. All that’s left is for them to defeat an army of the undead, watch how Shino loses his sanity to power and hope that they all make it alive.
It will come as no surprise that Shino is going to regain his senses and control that power next week. We all know that that’s roughly how it’s going to go down. Shino has come a long way and he’s the story’s hero, so there’s no way that they’re going to let him switch sides at the very end. All that’s left is to see how they’re going to do it.
